    i wanna write a book...

I'm a soon to be graduate with an English degree and was interested to know if there are any publisher/writer types hanging around that might want to give me a few bits of advice about a book that I'm looking to write. Its on our beloved skiing lifestyle. Its easier to ask here than go to my English Dept. head. Its a really good idea and I wouldn't mind collaborating with someone else. Actually, a collaboration would be better. Peace folks.

I've got a buddy that I grew up with that just finished his MFA at UNC Greensboro...working on his first novel now, gonna be a writer. I grew up skiing with him, even patrolled with him for a year or two. He's always interested in a writing project. Let me know if you want his email addy.

non fiction with a little fiction. i'm looking to write the definitive book on skiing. not just history, but stories from patrolers, lift ops, pros, rec skiiers. funny stuuf, evol. of gear, the different styles through the ages, blah blah blah. you know, something that's a fun read but also helps people in the lifestyle realize what a great thing they really have going. also thought it would be a really good excuse to tour the country and world at dif ski places doing interviews and research.

I'd be willing to interview phUnk. Heh, now that'd be book-worthy.

Can I suggest a magazine/serial? It'd be more work, yes, but I'd definitely buy a subscription. Sounds like Ascent (older climbing magazine) for skiing.

Subscription #2 if a magazine is made. I may be able to help with some artwork. Lemme know if you go the magazine route.

wicked, guys. great ideas. will be in touch. may be awhile. very infantile state of things. prob won't really get started in the process for a few more months. waiting to get out of uni and then will have all the freedom in the world. collaboration and ideas will be thoroughly milked from every willing mag. i'm gonna go communist on this and say it would be even cooler to have multiple players around the country in this whole pipe-dream and have a anthology of sorts. maybe some sort of rebel journalism-type-thing like wolfe or thompson (rip). whatever. we'll see.
