I've read through the mails about the nordica beast mounting points and i just want to confirm with everyone what i should do.
The centre point ( | ) is marked on the sidewall between the 188 and the serial number i.e.
188 | ae12355448
The best freeride all mountain boot centre point will be 2-2.5 cms behind this point. (nordica beast 10 boots ) I have come to this from reading a few posts from this forum.
With regards to bindings, i have read in various forums that having a higher/raised mounting is better when using wide skis. Is this true ? Is there a better binding to use with wide / beast ski's?
I have a set of S914 FIS 20 or S912 TI bindings at the moment. I'm not sure which ones to use. (I'm 5'11" , 12st 10)
The 912's are lighter and are 4mm higher than the 914's but i can also swap the underplate from the 912's to the 914's to achieve the same extra 4mm.
Whichever bindings i have left over will be fitted to my Salomon 1080 lab Candides bang on centre point.
The vertical line is indeed the mount point. Having tested several positions with Railflex, I like mine at 2cm back.
4mm lift won't make much difference one way or the other. If you're center-mounting the Candides, it's probably because they're for park -- so you'd probably want the lighter 912 bindings on them.
