Mounting Points, Rossi Axials, 2004 Seth Pistols, and Racing

I haven't played around with mount points much and had some questions for the experienced guys. I just picked up 2004 Pistols (189cm.) The bindings don't fit my boots and I might have to have a shop remount tonight.

Bindings: Does the old Rossi Axial with lifter plate adjust BSL-wise. If so, how? It's at max-length right now (I need it shorter) and I can't find the tab I'm used to on Solly binders.

Mounting Point: I know Seth mounted these at +5 back in the day, and there's some +1 and +3 recos in this thread. These are mounted at mid-sole which looks far back from what I'm used to now. Thoughts from people who dug this ski? This'll be a 3rd mount so I'm trying to nail it.

Racer Question: Now that these apps exist I got a seasonal bet going on top speed. I figure these'll be faster than my other planks (181 Caylors.) Does further back (as in mid-sole) have a big pay-off in the top speed department?

Older(~2000) axials have an adjustment screw in the back of the heel track, the head of the screw should be flush with the housing(a little screwy, the screw slot is cup-shaped, so flush with the bottom of the cup) and there's an indicator on the left side of the heel track: the line on the heel piece should be between the two lines on the heel track, otherwise the worm screw doesn't have enough purchase. Hope that helps.

IIRC, +3 was the sweet spot on the OG seths, otherwise there's no freaking tail on those skis. Never owned a pair myself, though...

Mount point won't affect top speed,(unless you get really kooky with it) it'll affect the skis behavior at speed. Just wax them a shit ton and they'll go fast.

Another vote for +3 on the Seths. Pretty sure that's where Seth mounted them (not sure where you got +5?) That's where I had the 179s mounted and I loved that ski.
