Great entries. Hard to choose. I chose these ones because they all have very different subject matter, were pleasant to look at and good compositions. There were plenty I could have replaced as most were really great.

One takeaway "I" have learned from this is definitely sizing for web. Many of them were just too big to view on even decent size screens. Having to scroll to see the entire comp is really a downer and takes a ton away from the overall feel, IMHO.

    Anyway, good luck all!

If you just voted a second ago, make sure to update in this thread. Deleted the other one because I screwed up the poll. Thanks.

Agreed -- the way I viewed these portrait shots was to open each of them in a new tab and have my browser (Chrome) set to fit images to window -- that way I could see each of them fully, because otherwise the full effect is missing.

Man - this is a hard vote. I really like all of these shots.

    1. I am a sucker for mtcham's stuff and love when he posts the Yellostone wildlife.... such a cool area to live.
    2. Smmokan - I dig the B/W and while I usually don't like chairs in skiing shots, something just works about this. Almost a ghostly vibe.
    3. dfinn - that is rad. I like the color of the red lights, but more importantly, I really like the imaging on the locks. Good composition.
    4. Splitter - great shot, cool texturing on the snow. And I think I know where that is (Incline Lake Peak?).
    5. skiingislife - quite simply, that is a great portrait. Well composed and I like the white balance on it.

Damn - wish I could vote for them all.

DFinn was really close for me, but wish the sky was a bit more torrential.
I'm a sucker for depth of field and MTCham got my vote.

i liked dfinn's shot the best. i didn't vote for it though because i liked it even better when i scrolled down far enough that the bottom of the image was the bottom of the locks, which is to say i think it looks better composed as a landscape.
