    Silver Fork - 2/22/05

APD and I got some laps in Silver Fork today. The snow was pretty damn good.

Seth dropping into a nice little shot.

Seth laying it over in Silver Fork.

Seth should put up some more pics later.

well, we were stoked to be able to see where we were going most of the day. the vis was really good in bcc but it was cloudy behind us in lcc for hours and then it finally moved in and socked out our vis for the S aspect descent back to the car. before that, we had some great lines of recrystilized pow on the N aspects into silver fork. here is gramps surveying his nemisis:

we found the stability to be quite good where we were with only moderate sloughing but if you got caught it would take you down. gramps was enjoying a line right next to the indestructible cornice:

and a little lower in a nice low slope angle pow field:

i would have had a really sick shot of gramps arcing a turn with some great scenery behind but his camera turned off on me. oh well, it looked sick to me.

gramps grabbed a quick sequence for me as i went exploring. he reminded me what was underneith but i was pretty sure i could get back to where i needed to be. it took much more effort and white knuckling than expected. long story short, i missed setting up for dave's line down thru the trees.

anybody interested in the conditions can check here

the day was much more fun than i expected when i woke up. it's amazing [IMG]what a little visibility will do to your attitude. good outing gramps. thanks

edit: to add that gramps has ho's in different area codes:

APD, I couldn't figure out what look different about you. No helmet. That's it.
