If it’s a good visibility day, Shiffrin will be challenging the podium.

Goggia, simply bad ass and bananas.

That was a lot of DNFs!

    77. So awesome.

And yeah, fuck the Olympics. Way too much weight on one venue by the ignorant media

A lot of strong skiing in Run 2, but none were fast enough to take the GOAT’s Run 1 Lead.

Her critics like to point to GS and claim she is in her twilight, so I love watching the GS wins all the more.

FYI Peacock had it streaming live without commentary, so I hope the rest of the weekend will be broadcasted.

    Super Rankings before Today’s #1

    Marcel Hischer 359,400
    Lindsey Vonn 297,000
    Mikaela Shiffrin 290,800
    Ingemar Stenmark 290,100
    Annmarie Proell 272,500

Twilight of her career? I’d say she’s in domination mode and will be for several years barring major injury.

How can someone who never won a downhill be ranked #1?

Are you referring to Marcel? His Super Rankings are the result of all his crystal globes.

TBS, I think you are right!

    Lindsey Vonn 297,000

Shiffrin has one every Alpine racing discipline. What is “the big one” and who are you JONG?

In fact other leading ski racing greats never one at all disciplines. Stenmark and Hischer never one a downhill; the best Stenmark ever did in a speed event was a top 10 in SG. Vonn one two SL in her career, so by that measure Shiffrin has one more win outside her primary disciple.

If you are talking about an Olympic DH, then that’s just stupid. Here go do some homework and come back with an actual argument.

the word in the day was stenmark wasn't allowed to train and race for speed events because he was too fast and they were worried he would hurt himself

She has won 3 DHs. She has 6 DH Podiums. 13 DH top tens. Oh and she has won the fucking World Championships DH. For fuck sake. Do your homework.

She is the undeniable GOAT of Slalom. Almost the GOAT of all ski racing; she is closing fast. When she retires she just may be the All-Time GOAT of sports.

I can believe. He is an absolutely amazing skier. When an organization starts changing the rules because of one athlete, that is a good indicator of greatness.

Shiffrin wins SL today. That’s 80!

Moltzan scores her first podium and finishes 2nd. So cool!

What a great weekend for US Women’s Ski Team!

jFC, just cause weed is legal doesn’t mean you should be smoking it! Everyone knows that Mikaela has won DH’s, everyone knows she’s the goat, right now, all time. Now put down the bong and try(it ain’t hard) to figure out who I’m referring to.

    RE Stenmark: https://vault.si.com/vault/1980/03/0...nce-was-golden

As to Shiffrin, she's dominating like Federer was in tennis back in the mid aughts. Sustained consistent high level - amazing to behold!

When she was flying high Vonn wanted to race against the boys, but the powers that be wouldn't allow it. Have to wonder if Shiffrin will want to give that a spin in one or more disciplines at some point, and if so if anyone in this time will try to stand in her way.

I always thought that Vrenni Schneider was the women's GOAT skier...(yes a better skier than Vonn, Maze, Kostelić or Moser-Proll ). Shriffrin may be better.

Quit feeding the troll y'all, it's distracting from our amazement and adoration.
Shiffrin just won four World Cup races in a row!
    In three disciplines!
We were all wondering if she'd regain her confidence of old after her dad's death.
    Guess we can quit wondering.
Hanging out with Kilde prolly doesn't hurt none...

Moltzan with a 2 point race and podium?
    Wow.

Vonn could've raced against the men at any other venue than LL and it probably would've flown just fine. The biggest objection, at least as far as I understood, was to giving her more runs on the Lake Louise track than the women she was racing against on that track.

I'd be very curious to see any of the top women race against top men in similar conditions, but I'd be surprised if the times were competitive. Haven't Michaela and Kilde trained together? That would be one set of data points, not that I expect they'd release them.

Mikaela is already the GOAT IMO, she's just about to make it obvious to any remaining skeptics.
