    Another Stowe vid

Quite a dramatic change in weather from yesterday. That said, we had a similar plan to the day before. See something, hike it, ski down it. We hit the lower half of a long chute on the Mansfield side, and then a run below Blind Fate ampitheater. We had planned on doing some hiking near Jeff Slide, but just dicked around near the Workout Walls.

Skied the Spats again today. Felt a little off, and gaped the first chute we skied. Can't wait to do some lift serve on Wed. Basom, I won't be working next Sunday and could ski all day. Or anyone else, for that matter.

I'll get some pics up in a little bit. Here's a short vid, about 2 minutes. about 20 mb, mpg.

Keep working the spats...it probably cause you havent had a chance to really open em up yet....really bomb some shit...

take em to the resort....who gives a fuck if you get weird looks....open em up and you will understand them...

once you understand how to let em rip and ski them from the boot, then you will REALLY love them...

i havent skied anything but the spats since I got them...they rip all

    good luck

Blackouts are over so I might swing over to meet up for a few runs on Sunday morning. Smuggs side was filling in really deep yesterday, going today to lap the chin a few times so I ll report back tonight after work. Could check out some of the stuff off the back of Spruce too if you're up for it, I'll try to remember to check the one-ride thing but the slide back to Stowe isn't so bad if you come out high in the notch. Just pretty much cruise to the bottom of the brook, then you know the deal from there. Probably lucky you didn't hit the Jeff Slide yesterday, that shit can be really nasty when it doesn't fill in right...98% of the time. I'm on shitty ass dialup so can't check the vid but were else did you hit up, Cass? Hidden? or that chute on the corner I can't remember the name of? With a little loving and the workout wall zone could be a whole lot of fun.....

My buddy AJ was at Smugg's today, riding with his crew from Alpine Shop. He was on Gotomas, guess he did some runs in the birthday bowls. Said it was verrry nice.

If you're looking up to Cass's Gully, we were the next large drainage to the left. The crust underneath was prevelant at times, but it was still very fun. It was also cool passing ice climbers on the hike up and having them give you the "WTF, mate?" kinda look. Our first run was another gully further left, definitely harder to see from the road.

For the Jeff's area...skiers left of the slide there's some very cool shit, but I have only hiked it without snow. That run would be pretty damn hard to find from the top of the ridge.

Hell Brook and deep off the bench should be good today. Have fun!

I state all this in hope that there isn't a small militia of eagerly waiting groms on this board that now have enough knowledge to find this stuff. I figure with a lot of it, if people wanna put in the hiking/routefinding effort, they can have it.

Sunday, let's set the fake meeting time for 9am at the quad base. Basom and anyone that can be there earlier, I think I'm game. I haven't been over on the Spruce lifts yet this year But I'd be happy to check stuff off the backside out. Epic, maybe that would be easier for you if your lessons are finishing up at Spruce.

sorry billy. note the "try" in my statement. to rephrase:

"i try to occupy the slash burn and pillage genre myself, but a combination of over-aggressiveness, lack of ability, poor physical condition, and drug use places me directly in the out-of-control-twelve-year-old camp"

Nice work once again. Looks like conditions were a little softer for you guys than on the previous video. A couple of potential white room shots too, which is always nice.

Good to see that VT is making a comeback over the last couple of weeks. And, things are supposed to improve even more...according to Dr. Weather that is.

Quick update before work: North Ridge=shitty no snow just little trees and rocks with a little windblown crap in between, cliffs that I usually huck to wide open are not even close, hourglass is looking interesting at best some snow and it might be kind of fun though. Hell Brook= well thats were the snow went. The main drag was well hammered or at least not fresh, but with a little motivation and a quick shuffle through some tight spaces and fresh deep pow fields. Back of Spruce for a few laps before and after and found deep, deep, deep. Damn I'm sounding like a Jay Peak ski report I got to stop that, sorry. SJ, Cass is looking pretty good at the moment, and I know the chute you're talking about well it slid pretty big earlier this year and left a large pile of chunky debris about half way down. Back at it tommorow morning.

I'd love to do soe stuff on the back of Spruce, but I finish up just below Midway. I got a sweet new blue Marmot Storm King, and as soon as I switch jackets, I'm good to go.
