Broken wrist skiing beta for a buddy

Hey Maggots, so a buddy of mine who's broken his wrist a few weeks ago (clean break, no surgery) is coming over to do a bit of skiing. He's a strong skier with great balance (ex-ice hockey player) and we don't plan on doing anything too dangerous outside some mellow cruising and maybe mellow touring.

He's got a classic hard arm cast up to mid-forearm and wrappign around the hand. I'm thinking it's probably best to keep his hard wrapped around the pole so that he doesn't open his hand to take an impact. Anyone ever rigged up anything like that? What works?

    Thanks!

    No poles....
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

Get some plaster of paris and mold a pole grip into the cast after hollowing the hole in the grip out a bit for easy insertion/extraction. Put a couple set screws through the sides of the handle into the pole to keep it from falling or pulling out when planting in deep snow. Don't fall.

I skied in a cast with my middle bird finger only extended straight out. The thought of falling on it scared me a bit.
