Nice cans.
I lived in England for a while way back when. Loved the pubs. Loved the Guinness and Murphy's.
Mother's milk. Used to drink'em all night. Never understood the lager and lime, cider, Newcastle Ale bs.
Anyway, one vote for tasting better over there (England, at that, not even Irie, oops meant IRE).
Mmmm Guinness...
Yes, it tastes different, and costs twice as much. Why do you think everyone over there drinks Bud?
Still drinkin my Black cat coffee stout on tap.
Very mellow with some age, session worthy.
watch out for snakes
just grabbed two, four packs of this nectar.

Founders Breakfast Stout has treated me well.
Also for a "local" choice...Cortland Beer Co. in NY is brewing like 4 stouts, of which I really like the Black Widow.
So, while technically not a stout, I just brewed a strong, dry hopped, Baltic porter with a great hop balance to it. Comes in at 8.5 abv. Gonna age some in a whiskey barrel and see what happens. Muahahaha.
Guinness DEFINTIELY tastes better in Ireland, even when compared with the UK. At least in my hazy recollection.
^^^^ absolutely. Really no comparison to Guinness anywhere else.
Obsidian stout is damn fine as well.
Re: the quality of Guiness in Ireland vs. elsewhere... I've heard this from many people, and honestly, it's really not a compliment!
If your beer can't even travel well across one border, there is probably a problem.
^^^^ I think it has more to do with how fresh the barrels are (most pubs get new ones every day), how clean the lines are, how they're setup to mix in the nitrogen, and the quality of the pour than it has to do with traveling. There is just a creaminess to Guinness in Ireland that you can't replicate.
Mmmmm.... Creamy.
Sixpoint Diesel, Sam Smith's Imperial, Old Rasputin
Anderson Valley oatmeal stout in cans = delicious lunch while ski touring.
Trout river's imperial stout is awesome. Only had it at the brewery though.

we totally dig it.
Nice thing about a stout to is its one of the few beers I don't want to drink more then two of. Takes a while to drink and doesn't really get me carried away. Going to get myself a stout soon.![]()
