Hello maggots:

The wife and I are planning on moving to Utah in the spring. But she needs an offer letter in hand for my transfer paperwork to go through. She is an experienced elementary school teacher and is completing a Master's in Elementary Ed from a top-shelf institution. As of this spring, she will have her degree in hand and her state of Maryland teacher's license. She will be able to obtain her UT teacher's license quickly if hired into a position where it is required. She has a lengthy history teaching elementary school science, both in the classroom and in an outdoor ed. environment. She's also current with her certifications teaching skiing, as well as snowboarding, for whatever that's worth.

I know hiring season for schools is approaching and will start in earnest after the holidays. Does anyone have an "in" to help make sure her resume floats toward the top of the pile in a good spot? Her preference would be some place like Weilenmann School of Discovery in the Park City area, though she would also be open to a more traditional elementary or middle school classroom environment, or for that matter, a gig with an outdoor or science education center.

We're open to moving anywhere around the Wasatch. My job is flexible enough to move close to her work. Anywhere from the Ogden area to the Sandy-Draper area will be juuuuuust fine.

If she can't find the right job more closely-related to her degree, she can always teach skiing and snowboarding full time, so if you'd like to give me an earful about which ski school is the best to work for, I would be happy to hear it.

May Ullr bless you with snowfall,
