K2 Chief and Gotama? Too much overlap?

On a spur of the moment decision last week, I jumped on REI's Gotama closeout (190cm). Skis have arrived at the local store.

Now reality is sinking in, somewhat. I already have K2 Chiefs (181cm). Is this ski going to overlap so much with the Gotama that I'll feel stupid for dropping $$ on it?

Anyone skied both and can offer a comparo?

Extra length, extra width....and a coolio, extreme super rad twin tip, means the overlap is minimal....right?

    Karl,
What is your opinion of the Apache Chiefs? I have a chance to pick up a set cheap. I will probably set them up with tele gear. Anyone ever tele on these skis?
You don't need freerides when you got freeheels

You're gonna love the Gotama's in big snow. The Chiefs don't have much of a sidecut at 8mm

A couple of the guys on patrol tele on the chiefs and love them. Also, I believe the sidecut is more like 12mm, the topsheet is wrong.

You consider this a technical question?

I have them mounted with alpine bindings (Look P12, FWIW). They're fairly stiff in the center of the ski, with a medium-soft tip, and a tail that's a bit stiffer than the tip. Weight-wise, it's a really light ski. Because of the softness of the tips, you get some chatter at higher speed.

I really like this ski as an all-around ski when there's any fresh snow. It floats nicely, turns easily, and can hold an edge fairly well on harder stuff (not so good on ice, and really not good on ice going fast). Since it's relatively light and there's no metal in the skis, crud can bounce you around some, but not uncontrollably so.

I think this ski floats pretty well in deep pow, but I haven't tried any other skis over 95mm in the waist to compare it with -- leading to my question about the Gotama, which would be a quiver ski for the really deep days. I'm still debating whether it's worth another $500 (skis, bindings) for a ski that may be only slightly better in the deep stuff.
