Everest base camp at an elevation of about 5450 meters. It is one of the most popular trekking routes in the Himalayas and visited by thousands of trekkers each year. Trekkers usually fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, from Lukla, climbers trek up to the Sherpa capital if Namche bazaar.
You trek up to Kala Patthar for a magnificent view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and the Khumbu icefall and glacier. The base camp is the starting point for many of the expeditions to take on the summit.
