    Stingers > shotguns for AC

Just don't touch off a round with aircraft in the vicinity...

Do you run the poodle on the det cord out on the slope in question and sacrifice his fuzzy ass in the name of safety? Kinda harsh but safety first I guess.

I don't think that's true in Wilderness Areas.

One of the first things the Obama administration did when he took office four years ago was to make it legal to CARRY firearms in National Wilderness Areas but it was never legal to actually USE them and, even now, the USE is restricted to emergency protection.

    But I'm open to correction.

You have that close, but not quite correct. The possession of firearms in National Parks was OKed. Prior to that, firearms were not allowed in any parks. Hunting has long been a legal activity in wilderness areas

    Parks were previously banned, but...

That rule came under Bush, not Obama, and was probably part of Cheney's NRA repentance, after shooting his Buddy's face off... Cause more guns obviously mean less gunshot wounds
We build statues out of snow, and weep to see them melt...

I think the ruling came after the Heller vs DC case which determined that the right to bear arms was a personal and not a state right. The park system decided it was easier to not fight the NRA and just recognize a basic right to protect oneself. Target shooting, hunting and any discharge of a firearm not related to self defense are still prohibited in National Parks.

Listen - even if you could blast away with an M2 in national parks it still wouldn't do shit for avalanche mitigation, weaklings. More guns isn't going to solve this problem. Slides don't kill people - asphyxiation and massive trauma do.
