Crazy. I saw something online about a windsurfer getting bumped off Davenport Landing... Lots of hungry (big) fish come fall.

Not reconsidering. Those guys are everywhere. At least around these parts. I figure driving to the break, I am much more likely to get in a car accident than I am to get bit. I have been chased out before at this particular spot and I left yesterday after two hours of super fun waves partly because u was tired, but mainly because I was having shark thoughts. Not only was I solo, but you need to climb a 60 foot cliff on a crumbling goat trail, and then walk several hundred yards just to get to the car. That would be hard to do with a bite.

You definitely enter the food chain up north. Glad this guy was luckier than the guy in north SB county.

^^^yes, you are in the midst of the food chain. As long as you don't get bit, it is kind of cool. Lots of wildlife in the water and it is rare you don't have a visit from some sort sea mammal during a session.

My son transferred to Humboldt for this semester to work on his water sports. Spoke to him the other night. i think this shark attack shook him up. He also saw a mountain lion last week. said something to the affect of missing AK where all you had to worry about were bears. Vibes to the injured person. stay safe have fun.

Yeah bears are nothing, they don't stalk you or hide in your shoe. They also don't kill people for meth.

    I like bears
