    05/06 SNOWBOARD REVIEW

Wanted to start a thread for any riders who have been on any of the 06 fleets. Make? Model? Thoughts?

So where are your reviews? You started a thread with no content?

Okay, so SIA was again the normal hype, and it seemed that companies exchanged quality for looks. By this I just mean that most companies are allocating costs to new artists/designers, team rider contracts, etc. and the quality of construction and materials is being neglected by alot of these industry giants. As far as stuff I have been out on and spent some time riding on:

06 Drake binders- these things look freakin crazy. Wierd, beefy-wide single overlay strap, kind of like flows.

06 Compatriot Beta Scare 159 - sweet base (hard/fast as hell), very light

06 Thirty-Twos - even lighter this year, but experienced some fraying and ungluing after a couple of days!!!

Next years Mammut line is nice- they have def. took over the minimalist craze.

Have ridden some of Never Summers demos (new board that is similar to the Evo). Nice as always, but a little on the heavy side for my lighter frame.

New Goggles - Attics. They are the worst goggles I have ever worn. Fogged up, damaged seals, etc. Bad.

06 Burton Air. I am glad that they brought this board back. Don't know what next years will look like (Covert topsheet on demos), but the Air is a sick stick!

The Outra Vez 66 by Compatriot - bomber! (like this years) but another sick graphic and black base (instead of green)

And have ridden some Rossignol bindings (I think they are the 06 HC 3000 that I really thought were impressive)

Has anyone ridden the new Farmer Snowboards by dirty legend Shawn Farmer?

    thanks for the info.

burton air!? fuck yeah! i had a sweet 156 the first year they figured out how to make topsheets shiney. so sweet. big as neon AIR across the back...

does compatriot make any wide boards?

edit: and i can't stand how underhyped/publicized/developed snowboard technology is. i like ski technology so much more, which is weird.
    Craig Kelly is my co-pilot.
