    Cameron Pass 11-15

A 2-2.5 hour hike got us 2-3 feet of pow. It was heavy enough so we could surf over the top of it and avoid the debris under it. We hiked up to Diamond Peak and traversed looker's left (out of the upper left corner of the first pic. The snow was buttery smooth and the line we chose through some small trees/brushes was money! Definitely worth the hike. iskibc has some sweet video shots and I'll try to post some as soon as I can.

me and iskibc... no he is not Manut Bol's long lost cousin and no I am not phUnk. He was standing on his skis and I was sinking knee deep into the snow with my boots on.

    Good day indeed

It felt and looked like mid-winter up there today. It was puking all day long with a good 3-4 foot base and some fluff on top. Basically had the whole area to ourselves (besides a few teletippsters).

Here's a shot of the entire area. We skied just looker's left of the highest point on the pic. Sweet, buttery turns on a moderate pitch made for some good times.

naughty, naughty Funken! After skinning up 3/4 of the way, I looked back and saw Funken waist deep on the side of the skin track. Feeling bad for him, I threw his skis on my back for a while.

That looks pretty good for this time of year. I've never skied up around cameron pass, done lots of backpacking in the area though and I love it. It looks pretty good, that might have to go on the short list of places to check out this year. iskibc you bring new meaning to the term color coordinated, you must be sponsored

I hope they weren't seriously complaining about someone in their skin track. The path up was only 2 skin tracks wide - nowhere else to boot. If they don't want me in their skintrack they can buy me some Freerides and skins.

yeah, funken was a fackin' trooper! I think he might have crossed over the skin track 2 or 3 times, but that's because he had no choice.

I don't think they were seriously dissapointed about the postholing. he did tell me he doesnt like to see posts with pics and the name cameron pass. I think he posts on telemark tips, but they like to keep their locale a secret.

yeah, tell caesar salad and longbeard that cameron pass is no hidden gem. Maybe they should write a letter to couloir magazine and ask them to stop writing articles on cameron pass too!
