^^exactly. what matters is whether the rocks are fixed or loose.
loose scree is fun to ski.
    fixed rocks suck cocks

Don't take this advise! Fixed rocks actually scrape the hell out of your cock.

And on another note, it looks like someone around here has another alias and sponsorship.

Your buddy might wanna do a little more research before his next round of tees...or at least do some copyediting.

the description for his "Historic Route 40" short sleeve t-shirt states:

"You just skied Mt. Pluto, throw this on before you head to your favorite apres destination?"

    1. Mt. Pluto is part of Northstar (actually the highest peak at the resort), so it's not really slackcountry
    2. Mt. Pluto is off of Hwy 267 and not really anywhere near Historic Route 40.

    just sayin'...
"Man, we killin' elephants in the back yard..."

Why is it that when someone is "just sayin" they are usually WRONG or just sayin something nobody wants to hear.

You've got the wrong Mt Pluto. That there is a Disney reference.

If you kill a man in Reno just to watch him die they won't send you to Folsom prison in California. But no one gave Johnny Cash grief about it.

Nah no Disney reference. Pluto is NS. Judah and Donner is old 40. Disney = SB. He got it wrong, I still bought a 431 t-shirt though, cause....you know.

heh, I'll ask him about that... though perhaps only his favorite Apres destination is what is near Old 40... although, then his shirts should say "Apres Old Route 40" not "Ski Old 40"... you get the drift!

probably nobody at Martis Camp or the Ritz Apres would buy "Ski 267" shirts so there's that angle too!

edit: oldgoat - nice line! Yes, poetic license I believe is in effect here...

CA is nice. Look at that picture thread Schralph did. The state can't help that is governed by a bunch of idiots.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Well, it could, but that would require the other idiots realizing it.

I'm pretty spoiled with good single track where I live (about 15 minutes from Annadel), so if I'm in Tahoe for one day, where should I go?

Hit up 4 of the 9 Wu-Tang Clan patches today with Vets, G2A, and Rossi the Wonder Retriever. Snow was sweet summer corn.

Most of the lines 666 skied a few weeks ago are done, though, but the Method Man Patch is nice and long and pretty damn smooth (not to mention fairly easy to access).

Weather was sunny until about 2 when the thunder clouds came to a head. We exited without any lightning, though, which was clutch (got rained on for a bit, but nothing major).

Great day to earn July turns for sure.

Thanks. It was a nearly last minute Roundtop recon mission of calculated risk/reward. (I trusted the hourly forecast and two other like-minded skiers had faith in my trust) Fortunately we received more reward.

The patches on Round Top are shrinking rapidly. But it sure felt good to make some turns.

Glad to hear that the turns are still feeling good there. Sorry I missed it. Our recon mission west of Tahoe yielded nothing in the way of accessible/skiable snow. Let me know when you head up again. Hopefully I'll be able to join you and Bella.

I saw your sliver above independence lake today when coming back from hsmf. Still looks like a few turns can be had on it, but round top looks better, maybe not if you have to straightline that side angle chute.

as long as we're making fun of marketing fails.

it's not like kirkwood's actual profile wouldn't suit the ad. and it's not like they can't get a copy of their trail map

Still some skiable patches on the backside of Castle Peak for someone desperate enough, and I do mean desperate.
