Are the Chutes still open at Rose? Any idea if they will be this weekend? Thinking of hitting Rose for closing on Sunday (possibly Saturday).

Sleeper morning at the wood. 10 inches, sometimes more, dust on crust, 15 degrees, plenty of sucker holes and first tracks in pali. Noice. I would have just hiked for the wall but had a friend along who wasn't in that space. The guys that got it laid down some nice tracks. Bout the time I decided to hit the Reut for Waterfall, saw someone get it. Snow started to get heavy by 11:30 (at 18 degrees...trippy) and it was done. phone pics...

Chutes were open at Rose today. Opened at about 11:30, good coverage, although the winds were howling and scouring some areas down to the crust. Everything was open and it was snowing hard 85% of the day. The evil NE winds were definitely leaving their mark though. Got some April Tahoe Face Shots nonetheless!

Tahnks truckee_splitter and Corky for the beta. Rose on Sunday it is.

Corky, they have $29 tickets for those with season passes from other resorts, which I think is the same as the friend deal, so I am good, thanks though. I texted TMRF, we shall see if he shows.

Forgot to report Owen's banked slalom result. He was 9th of 15 boys 11&under skiers. He was bummed he couldn't do 2 runs. He probably would have moved up.

I have used that lot and that trail multiple times in the summer when Stanford camp was open and in full swing without problem.

I haven't for a few years now though, but I never encountered trespassing signage (to my knowledge). I would hope that it hasn't changed because that is the best, quickest way up Tallac or Cathedral.

I would drive in and ask. Those guys and gals have always been very kind in my experience, so they might just be trying to weed out the masses.

Man, you must have been out early. We hit Chamois around 11, and it was just starting to turn from "crap!" to "sweet!".

Agree that 6 was better that day, but 10 was fabulous at the end.
Saw the sign for the 1st time, so realized we were skiing All The Way.
Man I wish I could deal with that ice-band up top of 10 like you do. Lucky for us Cinders spotted a nice way in above those 2 rocks.
Waterfall was the most fun ever...but that was Saturday, nice & soft & sloughy.

Cinders & me should be up this weekend with Tini & ShadeGardener. Driving up in The Yellow Submarine, keep an eye out!

If anyone comes across some splitboard crampons near Relay Peak or Bronco chutes I lost mine today. They were tied together with a orange voile strap. My last two days out I lost my favorite long sleeve, arcteryx mid layer shirt and my crampons. grrrrrrr

pretty good storm to end it out the storm cycles. deep blower but you could feel bottom on steeper turns. prolly more faceshots yesterday then all season except maybe those december days. definately enough snow to make the transition back to spring take a bit though when it turns.

Did you show him how many Snowboarders he beat. Some of those guys were multiple multiples of Owen.

    Yesterday was a nice bonus.
I'm cool with this, as long as you Kirkwood Bro Brah's stay away from Heavenly when 88 closes- TahoeBc

half way to carson pass i was wondering if it was gonna get warm enough to glop to the skins today. then i realized it didn't matter cause mine would be nice and dry hanging on the door where i left them. boot packed three mini golf laps till my left shin couldn't handle another step. walking out the road was about unbearable so i wrapped my skis with voile straps and hobbled out in tele mode. these radiums are killing me!

Was this anyone in here? I saw a snowboarder and skier drop Relay then Bronco chutes above me. I was lurking in the trees and snapped this shot:

Anybody doing a daytrip from Bay Area to Kirkwood for closing day? I'm thinking about it, but not really committed and would want to find a rider or two or a ride.

I was there the last two Sundays with my wife after skiing Heavenly both Saturdays, but she is not interested in going again as she thinks she needs a weekend at home. Still looks like Chair 10 is not going to run again this year.

Too bad Squallywood is shutting its doors when we have perfect Palisades/Mainline/Granite conditions! Last week I went for the triple crown grand slam. Eagle's Nest Shoulder, Mainline Steep Line, Granite Day's In x2 (too lazy to hike Pali$ades), then hit the pump track on the bmx bike and singlespeed, holy shit 20" makes the 26" feel slow! brrraaaaap! Finished the day with a sunset skate sesh at the Truckee park. Spring is rad!
