Keep in mind that 10" of blower atop coral reef and massive bumps can feel a lot like 2". Smooth BC could see vast improvements, though, that's for sure.

Arrow Looking for a Ride from KW to South Lake on Friday after the lifts close...???

Not sure if everything will pan out yet...

But just wondered if there is anyone who could give me & Cinders (+ a ski bag, 2 boot bags, 2 backpacks) a lift from Kirkwood down to South Lake Tahoe (by the Gondi) on Friday evening?
We'd fill you up with gas, or get you a pizza, or whatever, for the favor.

Post up if you think you can, and/or PM me. Danke

Today was fun in the alpine hiking terrain. not good but fun, even found a few face shots followed by more scratchy turns. I think I came home from Canada too soon

Squaw was surprisingly empty first thing today. No lines at KT, headwall or sibo.

Stuff that didn't have bumps under it was great. Low visibility blown in bumps were uh, character building. Bumps with a good line and enough light to spot it were actually pretty good.

    thanks for the beta guys

sounds like low angle BC turns is the way to go! resort might actually be better on sunday once the sun and packing down has worked the snow a bit ...

1 1/2" to 5-6" in the gullies. Averaged about 3". On top of bumpy crud.

Was actually a lot of fun. You had to work the feather on the edges, and smooth turns were VERY possible.

Sorry if we did not leave a lot, inbounds. It schmeered quite nicely.
Lots still available if you want to do a bit of hiking, but what a crust. The dust did not stick to it at all.

Potential of a bit more arriving on the back side of that swirl NorthEast of us. More dust.

Friday was the first of a 5-day visit to Northstar. Skied 1 run on a groomer off Vista, and surface was mostly edgeable, but hard. Runs off Comstaock were in good condition, even the un-groomed, and off-trail in trees was inconsistent but still nice powder in places. Backside groomers were in good shape, but ungroomed and off-trail were hard -- skiable, but not much fun. It snowed late in the afternoon and was still snowing pretty hard when I left at 4:00, so hopefully got a bit of re-surfacing. They claim 1 in mid-mtn and 3 in. summit, which souns about right.

Coming from Washington to Tahoe from 2/17 - 2/24. Staying with some Kwood buddies in Meyers and probably hitting a couple of the resorts. They are ripping skiers but not much into backcountry and I want to spend a couple days out of the resorts. If anyone needs a partner during that time frame hit me up. Beers will be paid out. Otherwise can anyone recommend some zones, maps etc to get me going in a good general direction. I think my friends get 20% off with their passes but are there any other lift ticket deals out there.

I have all the safety gear, training, experience and am a capable skier in any conditions.
