The advisory, sure. I don't think anybody expects them to forecast for areas with tons of skier compaction and other AC.

But I swear I've seen inbounds incident reports from the avy guys in other areas of the West. SAC obviously has limited resources, but reports about inbounds incidents would be interesting/educational reads if somebody wrote them up.

That sucks. Burger lounge was my favorite 2000 calorie+ meal joint in south lake. Guess I'll have to stick with drinking the calories after long touring days for now.

15 guys get drunk at a party at a cabin at Echo Lakes. They steal a row boat, drag it uphill, load everyone in and take a run down the hill. All goes well as they have to slide through fresh pow. On their next run, they go faster as the pow is already broken. They hit a boulder. Casualties: 1 broken rib, 1 broken back, and 1 row boat broken in half. SAR sled goes through the ice near the edge of the lake while going to evacuate the injured. Sled riders have to warm up in the cabin. Everyone evacuated by morning. SAR sled runs fine once it is out of the lake.

I missed this particular SAR as I was previously committed to taking Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer and Pizza for Breakfast up Trimmer in the morning and they were driving long distances to get here. Damn.

Did Luther to Gardnerville via the saddle between Job's Sister and and Job's. It was nuts--seriously balls to waist deep. We would have hit Job's Peak proper but visability was very limited and we were worried about the avy danger. Snow was good almost all the way down. There was maybe a half mile of bushwacking at the bottom but we were able to keep our skis on all the way to truck. Fun day. Wish I could have seen where we were going though.

^^^^ Sounds like a fun tour.

Skied Trimmer today - was absolutely great. Notwithstanding Powdork/Tahoe BC, plenty of untracked left. These cold temps have really kept all the snow in pristine condition.

We did not encounter any instabilities, and very little to no wind effect in that area. I dug a quick hasty pit to check out the 12/12 and 12/2 facet layers - about 200 cm down up at 9K there. Above it, everything was very right side up going from a finger, to 4 fingers to fist at the top 30 cm.

    Great skiing all in all.

The USFS will do incident reports on patroller involved accidents and accidents in ski areas that are on NF.

You guys seem to not understand that there is a process for this type of stuff and that not all information is going to be made public 2-3-4 days after an incident. I understand that we live in an instant info type of world, but that does not mean that you can expect to know everything you want to know instantly.

Go review the fucking Burger Lounge or something and shut the fuck up.

    Please.

..that whole side meaning the silverado lift area. I came upon that lift on a sugarbowl > squaw traverse last year but it wasn't running, forgot about it until Saturday.

I think it is Olympic Boot Works and the owner is Buck. He used to own Java Summit Sports in Soda Spring and knows his shit. I have no contact info.

wow. that was hard to watch. so utterly dysfunctional, unpracticed and uncoordinated. that should be posted everywhere. I wonder who they were, I would like to make sure to avoid ever skiing with them. Not to mention, skiing echo on dec 27 on a pitch that steep, with a rollover? WTH?
