I love the sound of snowplows in the morning...

    A very solid 7" here in T/D this a.m.

Interesting videos up on The Weather Channel concerning Brutus and the naming of winter storms (which they refer to as a "new product"): http://www.weather.com/news/weather-...aming-20121108

Watch the videos for "Brutus: Significant Winter Storm" and "How We Name Winter Storms"

Feels more like 12 at the base, but this is not dust on crust. The patch of blue that was here 45 minutes ago is now engulfed in giant flakes. Woot. Gonna suck today. Should have stayed home and dig in the mud.

Chair 10 is not good. Please stay away for your own safety. I will be back on SUN. to re-evaluate conditions. Danger danger danger. Chair 10 is super thin. I repeat don't ride chair 10 for your safety.

Both Squaw and Alpine were making snow today, on top of Mother Nature's efforts. Not so surprising for Squaw, with opening day 12 days off, but Alpine's is 4 weeks from now.

kwoods twitter says they have a 'no hiking policy' right now, but their fb says to simply avoid mtn ops. can they stop us?

Already clarified with Coop, you're fine to hike just be courteous to mountain ops and try not to get run over by a cat.

the only lines at kirkwood with enough snow got bumped out today. i wouldn't bother.
the heave is getting a foot of lake effect tonight though.

before it got all crowded, kirkwood was like this
    kfactor

ottime. just make the left turn and you'll be fine. for the record, this was not one of the places with enough snow (so its not bumped now)

    kfactor goes largish

ottime thinking a christmas opening would be a sound new policy for kirkwood

and meanwhile, we'll stay out of mountain ops' way

peace out from the dog friendly kirkwood touring center

i know. i'm working on it. tgr zapped itself right when i was posting so somehow the images were lost in space so i put them on my domain but it keeps reverting to no hotlinking which is irritating.

should be all better now, but i am sure it will revert again in the near future

So... I don't know him personally, but this seemed like an appropriate place to give props to fellow maggot Jim S. for the write-up in the latest issue of Powder. Unless I'm mistaken but I'm pretty sure I'm not. Surprised no one else has mentioned this yet.

mmmm. Glad to see some serious stoke. Well done, PD. That snow looks pretty darn good, btw. Too bad DFKTC closes on Nov 22.

There was about 6 inches on my deck at 6,500ft on the river off 89 yesterday morning. I drove up to AM and there was about 9 in at the base. I shoveled yesterday and woke up to another 6 on my deck. Today should be pretty good up on the mountains in the N aspects. Snow is very dry.
