I don't get it. How can you snowboard all day and still pass a piss test. Am I missing something?

^^^ Didn't they try that last year? I don't remember it ever actually happening, probably based on the low snow?

My guided tours on the Cirque start May 1st

I think they will progress to opening but softly. Guided, then hopefully that new lift for better snow safety access, then game on.

Great snow and surprisingly good stability out by a creek near Truckee. Sure was cold for Tahoe up on the ridge lines, though.

i will be there, although "there" might be past chair 4 by 9:30 with doggie in tow. it would be a long day for him in the cold though so i might leave him behind, which he also hates. either way i will be there.

^^^let me know either way. If with Nacho, are you going by way of red cliffs? Not that I'd join you for that part of the hike, but it may help me keep up with you later.

You young guys like to sleep in. But you ski faster than me, so sure, yeah, 9:30. Let me know if you show up earlier. Being a day trip, I'll probably be there for first chair(ish).

I'll be wearing pants, skis, some sort of top, a pack and I have one head with will be mostly covered.

And I have been thinking about that one line I often stare at before heading into Cali. That big face going down to 4th of July.

Alpine had a lot of good left overs (and partially filled in trenches) today if you knew where to look, especially off Sherwood. On the other hand, any time you got close to something steep it would be 2 great pow turns followed by hitting a massive ice bump/chunk. After one of said ice chunks tweaked my knee a bit I learned my lesson and intermediate tree runs were the way to go.

It kept snowing all day long, once again defying the forecasts. It won't be great tomorrow but it won't be bad, either.

Yup, I still can't believe what a ghost town it was first thing, it seemed like there was about 20 of us lapping Silvy for the first hour. My first 3 runs I'd go back and my tracks were still the only ones through there, like my own private ski area. A day I won't soon forget.

Also I never really understood what the big deal about the cirque was??? Doesn't really seem like it should be closed. And that nonsense in the article hyping it up to be some crazy "backcounty zone" that can't be skiied top to bottom is nonsense! It's unfortunate that you kwood mags have to wait to corn season to get in there, so many good lines that would be prime mid winter. I mean come on the cirquecdoesn't really have much on the bec or the midi or the reve venue, all of which are fair game for anyone

I think I am up there Sunday just because.
