Any word on how much Alpine is actually enforcing the no uphill traffic policy? As in, did they put it on Facebook to deflect the masses or are they seriously cracking down?

I'll be at Squaw on Friday and Saturday but was hoping to fit in a quick skin there if possible one morning. (Squaw is opening the upper mountain on Thanksgiving, BTW).

What do you mean? Do you work there? I'm probably gonna head up to Tahoe this Friday or this weekend. Guess I'll go here

Seems one has to do some slogging to get fresh tracks right now. I was kinda over the 200' runs at Reno/Tamarack Mt Ski Area so we put in a little extra mileage and were rewarded with epic pow on all aspects and we didn't see a soul the entire day.

I'm in need of a new pair of ski boots and was just wondering if there was any particular place you guys would recommend. Someone told me powderhouse but I wanted some more opinions. Thanks
Start Haus x3. Got my gf's boots there- the bootfitters were so good makes me realize that I made a mistake getting mine down in the bay...

looks like kirkwood is going to be able to open 6 in the winds. however, watching the radar, it lookslike the snow level bumped up above 10k there for a half hour or so before dropping back down to 7.5-8k

I bought boots at Starthaus yesterday. I can't believe that Phil guy wouldn't come in on his day off to sell them to me.

Speaking of my new boots. If anyone has a pair of Tecnica Cochise Tech soles (AT/dynafit) that they'd sell me for cheap, please PM me. I'd like to pay less than $50 shipped.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

That explain the poor snow report on the phone this morning. I don't understand Australian that well, but I think she said a few inches.

Should make stomping to the cabin a bit easier

Well, everyone left and I had to continue to do it all alone. More fun than I expected. And it did not rain on me. Will see what tomorrow brings. Time to get the little one out on some skis.
