Thanks for setting me straight on that - guess I was fooled by the low angle and the close follow. Very cool perspective, a real closeup look at the skier's technique.

Glad to hear ... wasn't worth the $70 in gas to me and MapleLeaf for a windy gamble today, so we had some nice rock climbs with schuss along the N. Fork American instead. California never fails to deliver, even when Ullr doesn't.

Warm gusty winds and high clouds today kept the snow tasty top to bottom.

It's worth it, great varied rock with a lot of good texture, even though I'm a hack at rock climbing. We'll be back, for sure.

Forgive my ignorance, but where is that? I guess I need to start leaving the climbing harness and shoes in the car.

Took the weekend off, and was regretting it by 11am.

Edit: Nevermind, looks like its around Auburn, I guess.

A doggie POV might be pretty interesting, Powdork I wonder if you could figure out a way to attach one to Nacho?

^You'd have to film that at 60fps and then re-adjust the rate down to 2/3 speed or something ... otherwise we'd all be throwing up and sick just trying to keep up with wtf is going on in the video

Yup. Pumping surf, no wind and 70F on the cliff at noon thirty. Cali does deliver.

It was raining at my house at 6,200 ft all night and still is. But looking at the trees, around 6,500 ft is snow line.

Looking for a hangover tour in truckee?

Long story short, the last of my hiking buddy's is getting married so we got a cabin in Truckee to drink beer and ski. We are going to stay up late and drink too much. So I'm hoping to find a local hill we can yo-yo, drink beer at the top and bottom, not get lost. No dawn patrols, no Gnar avi path, just some place some hungover, middle aged hacks can skin and ski?

In Meyers it was raining lightly in the morning, but in the last hour it's cooled from 38 to 36 F and is snowing moderately hard.

Too lazy/hungover to drive to kwood today--any mags have a report?

Confirmed. A good layer of spackle is being applied now. The base layer remains edgable, so this should set us up for whatever Ullr brings.

You could go real easy and hit the old ski slope above the Cottonwood Bar. OR go to either Castle Peak or Negro Canyon (Donner Lake West Exit). Both mellow (mostly) terrain. Good for drinking beer.

Sweet thanks for the info. We are also talking about skiing sugar bowl on Friday. Any resort recommendations? I have not been to Tahoe in over a decade.
