We skied a 2500 foot south facing run off of cp, starting at about 10,000 feet. At 12:30 am, top half was transitional almost corn, the bottom half was good corn but we had to do a lot of bush whacking to complete the run and make it up the drainage back to cp.

I'm going to CO this weekend. So it is likely to snow a lot here in Tahoe. Enjoy it. I'll be skiing with my son in Breckenridge.

    nice!
whilst attempting to leave the comp and head back there my binding toe piece exploderated, which necessitated a trip to alpenglow in tahoe city before heading back to the south shore.
    good times..

Damn, zIPPY is pretty to look at.

And just to be sure, the wintery stuff last week, sucked. What a crappy storm.

Before the toe piece blow out, Mr. Florida hops.

    more here.

LOts of fun last week. Can't wait to get back out there. And searching out the wintery stuff is my favorite thing to do. I agree that corn season lasts long enough.

i heard a nasty rumour that Alpine has closed down most of their hikes till we get more snow...

That's not a terribly granular description. I think Keyhole was closed last weekend, and probably will be until there's snow, but you could hike past it to the Lower Saddle, High Yellow, etc.

High T was open today, although I didn't see anyone going past Upper Saddle. Don't know specifically about Beaver and beyond but the board at the bottom of summit was all green. I was going to have a look at beaver tomorrow. (Wolverine Saddle through the Face and Kangaroo Ridge was closed for Squaw team race training.)

We hiked High T to the Sun Bowl yesterday. Actually found a few decent turns out there, but some ice also.

Chatted with a AM patroller, they didn't seem to happy about having Wolverine/Waterfall all roped off.

    Bit Late But...

A bit late I know, but I really liked your little sideways pop at around 1:28
Billy-Goat cred for sure! What would you call that?
(I'd like to add it to my repetoire, but would prolly get caught up & tumble)
Man you were really ripping...places to go, people to see!

Cin & me will be at HV then KW this weekend.
Prolly go searching for Old Pow, rather than ride the groomers, depending how much crusty crap we have to cross to find it.

It was sunny, but stayed pretty cold at Sugarbowl yesterday.
Not much Corning Up going on, except for (groomed) Disney East Face.

today was great, but somewhat of a corn transition day.

tomorrow should be bonkers now that the skies are clear and the overnight temps seem to be dropping.
    Still waiting...

Question Didya Go To MSP's Superheroes of Stoke in SF and get a Voucher?

    Hey Mike
If they are any good, we have 2 "buy one full price - get one free" ticket vouchers for SV/AM that we got from the MSP Superheroes Of Stoke Movie.
Essentially half price if there are 2 of you. I can mail them to you.

If this is the best you can get, maybe some other BayAreaMags can pitch you a few?

    Last Wed at The Wood

Zippy's back!! That's the universe's way of saying it might consider getting serious about this season after all..

I got a little film in the can from last Wednesday's mini-pow day.
Hope it's worth a look to the collective:

Snow looked great but it was very thin as y'all know. Fun day with good people, irreregardlessly.
Props to the great pics too coming in lately from (of course) 666, Powdork, dhklauer, Ottime, etc. Hope that this edit keeps the stokementum up and that mags aren't afraid to share their footage -- we need it; throw it up there!
