    Canadian Rockies

I've been working in Canada for the last two months, and have taken a few weekends to get into the mountains. The Canadian Rockies are seriously one of the most amazing places I've ever been.

Mount Cephren. I've driven past this lake a lot and never gotten a good reflection picture until 2 weeks ago. Pretty stoked on this one.

I could see a small fall from the road, so I bushwhacked a bit and found this badass set of pools and falls.

This is a small pond in Jasper NP where it looks like a huge rock slide filled it with all these boulders. You can walk out into the middle of the lake before they get spaced too far apart to jump to the next one.

This is actually in the Purcell Mountains in BC. Family and I took a mini vaca to check out a new area.

Moraine Lake. Last time I was here for sunrise, the wind was really blowing, so I was stoked on the reflection pics this time.

Maligne Lake sunset. This is probably one of my favorite places out here.

Pyramid Mountain sunrise. The aspens hadn't really started turning just yet.

Castle Mountain. Sunset was kind of a bust, but still some good clouds.

    Some nice shots in there!

The first peak is Chephren, with an "h" like the great pyramid near Giza. Chephren was originally known as the Black Pyramid, while the next peak north which had a glaciated summit was, and still is, called White Pyramid.

Chephren is a long but not very technical scramble. Did it once and got chased around Chephren lake by a grizzly and almost trampled by a moose.

I have some cool shots of the row of peaks towards the Pyramids from the summit of Mt. Sarbach. Need to get the slide scanner up and running.

    Good info Eldo.

I would love to come back in the dead of winter when everything is totally white and frozen. I suspect those mountains are pretty badass then.
