Ice, Ice, Baby- quasi La Grave mini TR

well, there wasn't acres of pow, so i concentrated most of my pic taking on all the amazing mountain, ice falls, glaciers, and streams, all born from the majestic La Meije.

obligatory, funny P La Grave lift

poking around the vallons one afternoon, i literally almost fell into this beast of an ice cave...the view from the inside out, floor to ceiling was about 15 ft.

looking into the gaping hole, i expected to see luke skywalker hanging upside down with the ice beast muncing away at the ribs of a lost skier

further down in the valley, there were some amazing icefalls which then fed a beautiful glacial river...

That ice hole is amazing. Nice b+w shot at Les Ruillans too.

skiing was good, but not amazing, mainly due to conditions. considering the lack of snow though, the mountain holds it amazingly well. i would love to go back when the drag lifts are working to get a better scope. all that said, it's a great, kick ass challenging mountain that doesn't let you rest for even a second. i love that. i skied sre chev on my last day in tough conditions and it felt like an absolute cake walk after 3 days in la grave.
