I've always looked at lines and thought, "if only I had a mini Howitzer in my ski pole right now"......

Ski poles should be light. And I'm not one for getting drunk. However after years of working as a ski mechanic I am convinced we need to change the edge anchor design. Something with a hook or barb type system would make blowouts way harder.

change the edge system for fewer blowouts and what breaks instead of the edge? rather blowouts than wrecked skis.

Forget avvy transmitters or even transcievers, how about a avvy receiver? for the heros among us. Bionic ski pole mounted because that way it would always be with you, as you say.

How about skis that have handles built on them? Would make carrying the skis easier and grabs in mid-air cooler.

HBM... might be a bit of of a problem in an avy when you waste 15 minutes looking for your lost ski and all you find is a buried person with Recco instead...or vice-versa?

Already was thinking of that and a solution would be to use a different frequency that ID's Recco chips as "Equipment" and as "Body".

Ideally, it would be sweet to have this built in to skis and then each ski would have a "finder key". This could be as simple as a car door remote. Then the skier just keeps the remote key in their pocket. Also may help track down ski thieves.

They already sell them dude. The owner of the local ski shop here in Greenwater, WA was trying out and selling a transmitter in a small bag that you attached to the back of your binding with a zip tie and had a special receiver....specifically for lost skis in pow...

Given that I started skiing on wooden skis, with lace up leather boots, and cable bindings--seriously--I guess it seems to me like ski technology has improved a bit. One thing hasn't changed--the levi's I started skiing in haven't changed much.

I have a sweet tip connector with real wing-nut screws and a chain between them. Perfect for larger folks.

There are a ton of different ones, from Monkey Toes to trombone thingy's, to the old stand-by edgie-wedgie. You can even make your own with C-clamps, bungee cord, and PVC.

HBM- back to ski poles.... button on top of pole linked to horn. Imagine skiing down a groomer, honking your horn to get the gapers out of your way. Or for Leroy when somebody is stealing your line , or you are stuck in a tree well.

Well what about dagger-poles...daggers inside shaft attached to grip. When you want to go ninja on somebody, twist grip and shafts drop away leaving you with a dagger in each hand.
Good for tree branch trimming as well.

Someone should totally make a bong out of a ski pole... or vaporizer. Great idea there. It still has to function as a ski pole, however.
