    Dunkin' Donuts...

Is it just a New England phenomenon?

I think it would absolutely kill here in Summit. Many people I've talked to around here and Vail say it would fall on it's face.

    what say the maggotry?

I've always thought the same thing. They're all over Maine, but you never see them out here. I think D-town had a few but they're gone now.
    Dunkin Donuts coffee rules.
No more Starbucks please. They're drip coffee sucks and their fattening food selection is worse. Pretty soon we're going to have 8 of them is Summit.

After I moved to the plains of east Boulder, I used to drive about seven miles each way to hit the DD on Folsom (I think). Major bummer when they left Boulder.

I think it may be an EC thing...not sure how the DD would fit in at Vail.

that's crazy talk. Krispy Kreme's coffee is so bad they should serve it with a complimentary pack of Pall Mall's.

For all those in support of Krispy Kreme, get a life Dunkin Donuts owns the EC (especially my area, Mass.), you find it on nearly every other corner. Furthermore, not only does it own the EC, but if it came to your neck of the woods it would own your area as soon as you saw the light. On another note, Marylou's ("Best Coffee in Town") is quite respectable too, and I'm a fan of all of the hot high school girls they hire

Missed that one, every town has their local coffee shop, but competition never hurt, and the marginal difference in price that a chain may be able to offer below the local mom and pop is insignificant, if their product is that much better I'm sure the locals will still support their local Joe's Coffee. Also, the chains often offer a better selection and fast service in my experience, whereas local shops tend to be more of a sit down affair, and we are talking that ability to walk in - walk out or better yet drive-thru aren't we

cms: Yes, I am fucking mad about the proliferation of chains in America.

Not only are the bad for the country and your neighborhood but they serve a merely homoginized medium to low quality foodstuff. There can be no room for greatness at a chain.

Nate: Chains are a fucking plauge. They are not better than local establishments and the competition they bring is not equal.

Go to goddamned Daylight Doughnuts: No chain could ever hope to rival it on any level.

I go to Daylight Donuts quite frequently as a matter of fact. But just so you know, their donuts aren't as good and it's pretty tough to beat Dunkin' Donuts coffee.
btw- how do you spell donuts? doughnuts?, donuts? doh-nuts?

Dunkin Donuts' coffee was rated #2 in Consumer Reports.
Starbucks', burnt-tastes-like-shit coffee was rated #28.

I'm not for the proliferation of chains, I just like Dunkin' Donuts cause it fucking rules.

I'm sorry but most local "hip" coffee shops absolutely suck. Their regular coffee tastes like its been in the pot for 14 hours, and no, i don't wanna spend $5 on a mochafuckyourmomchinofrapomatic with whipped cream.

Dunkin Donuts coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts, a match made in a heaven.

All the Dunkin Donuts I used to go to were bought by arabic imigrants on a work visa who ran them into the ground and liquidated the whole thing within 2 years. Lemon's right. Chains do suck. You get the illusion of quality from the brand name and that's it.
