I'm going. I don't miss the Mule when they come through. Warren can absolutely shred a guitar.

no can do. heading to Steamboat.

I need to hit Denver for a show soon, though. the music scene up here consists mainly of strung out hip hop the next Sample wannabe's.

I'll agree that new Mule ain't like old Mule with Allen Woody. The smelly's are trying to ruin the band but they haven't yet. Putting the Mule and White Bread Picinic in the same sentence isn't right. Still, the Mule is only the second best show in D-town this weekend. And I'm skippin' both for Jackson. Yeh bitches!!!

The Mule absolutely killed it this past Sat. night. Repairs are currently under way to the roof of the Fillmore as it was torn off at some point during the show. "Overrated" my ass.
The Mule does not disappoint. Musically speaking, and as a group, these guys are some of the "tightest" around.

Highlights: "Soulshine" & a very cool version of Radiohead's "Creep"

I actually thought Sat was kind of weak... Great performance (Slackjaw was my highlight), lack luster setlist... or maybe I was too tired from having the flu. Boulder however looks to have been the shit!

    Govt Mule
Fillmore Auditorium , Denver , CO
Set I: Goin' Out West, Thorazine Shuffle, Time To Confess, She Said She Said > Tomorrow Never Knows, Little Toy Brain, Fool's Moon, Painted Silver Light, Slackjaw Jezebel

Set II: Soulshine, Sco-Mule, Blind Man in the Dark, Beautifully Broken, Los Burros de Espana Jam, Effigy > Let the Good Times Roll, drumz, Effigy, About To Rage, Left Coast Groovies, Lola Leave Your Light On

Enc: Creep, How Many More Years*

    Notes: * With Daniel Sproul.

    Govt Mule
Fox Theater , Boulder , CO

    Notes: Set I, acoustic.
Set I: Real Thing*, In My Life**, Fallen Down, Patchwork Quilt, I Shall Be Released, Wine and Blood, Into the Mystic, And It Stoned Me, Lay of the Sunflower, I Shall Return, Wild Horses, One

Set II: Rockin' Horse, Empty Pages, Mule, I'm So Tired > drumz > I'm So Tired, Perfect Shelter, Bad Little Doggie, Red House, Bad Man Walking, Mr. Man

I've only seen the Mule 7 times, 4 after Allen Woody died. If Sat. was a mediocre show by recent standards, then I certainly need to see them more often, 'cuz I was not disappointed.

Yeah, I have to say in the past two years alone they've gotten much better. They have written some great songs lately, and have gone from being a band I just like to see occasionally, to someone I'd travel to see. They dont call Warren "the hardest working man in show business" for nothing. That "Los Burros de Espana Jam" that was kind of ho-downish was great!
