Purchased 5/26/2009 from 42nd Street Photo in NYC, have receipt. Inexplicably they sent it to me in a kit box but this sale is Body only.

Specs:

• 15.1 Megapixel

• Uses Canon EF & EF-S Lenses
• 3.0" Clear View VGA LCD
• Live View Mode
• Integrated Cleaning System
• ISO 3200 - Expandable to 12800...

This body specs:
Shutter count - 42,714.
Sensor was cleaned and camera inspected at Canon Factory Service Center in Irvine on 1/18/12.
Velcro mount on top of body for your cable release included free of charge.

Shows signs of normal use, but this body was very well cared for and as such is fully functioning.

Not a Canon USA model, probably a Euro or Asia. No quality difference, but causes warranty issues.

No warranty issues when the body is a few years old and is being sold second-hand; there isn't a warranty anymore.

Meaning... it's a non-starter now. Good price for a great camera.

That it's not intended for US markets making it hard to warranty. But since it is out of warranty anyway it doesn't really matter. Most of those "NY" camera shops that have the lowest prices sell grey market cameras to get that low price. It's technically the same as any other 50D out there except for the warranty issues. As long as you don't have any problems they are a great deal.

Yeah, Canon serviced it no questions asked in January (because I paid for it).

Exactly. Bodies are warranted for 1 year I believe.

edit: wait, no. It is a massive big deal and you should knock another $100 off, and you should be grateful that I'd take it off your hands.
