I just might have couch/floor/bathroom/kitchen for one or two -- but won't know for sure until closer to the event. I'll post again with more accurate information.

    Question Reno ---> Mammoth...Thursday night?

Hey, I might be flying into Reno on Thursday night about 7pm-8pm arrival.
Anyone thinking of heading down Thursday night from RNO that I could hitch a ride? I'll know for sure in about a week or so. Should be on late flight out of SLC.

also be looking for a way to get back to RNO by 8pm on Sunday so if anyone's got ideas? Or maybe a few PNW/or other peeps could land the same time in RNO and we could just split a car for three days?

edit: splat, I think you said I might be able to hitch, I'll PM later.

Anyone driving from the bay area? I know this sounds crazy, but I was thinking of flying into oaktown, so I could visit a couple buddies from college before heading to Mammoth.

I'll likely be flying from MSP on Wed or Thurs. to arrive in RNO @ 11:00 PM. No tickets yet, so it's open to change. Limited on flights back to MSP on Sunday or Monday (640AM or 1210PM). If there's no other carpooling, we could probably split a car...

It looks like there will be enough to fill that second condo, but I really don't want to book it (and pay) unless I know there's at least 4 people.
Mammoth is recording a total of 525" this season (so far, and it's still snowing), a base of 18 feet!

This mini is in exactly one month, so book those flights

    Yoga,
I should get the final confirmation from my boss either today or tomorrow so I can confirm my plane ticket.

Peoples, PM me if anyone wants to split that 2nd condo. I don't mind coordinating if I know it'll be filled. I guess paypal or checks are the way to go. So anyone interested, PM me or post here.

I'm in on the condo. Any transport options opening up from Reno? I'd prefer not to book my plane ticket until I know - don't want to miss the bus, but don't want to sit in Reno for a day either.

[Edit] YC - Let me know the cost and I can PayPal to you so you don't have to front the cash.

I broke down and rented a car in Reno. Picking up 4/28 (11:00PM) and returning 5/2 @ 10:00 AM - Full size. I can haul some mags if needed. My flight gets in at 11:00 and I plan on leaving right away - but if there's interest in leaving 4/29 AM, that's cool too...

    PM or post if interested.

[Edit] I can cancel if Splat or anyone has a pool from Reno...

Is there going to be a central mag meeting place? I'll be rolling in late Friday night and camping in a special place known as "El Truck-o"

This thing starts on April 28, in 4 weekends. The last weekend of April. Most arrive on Thursday night - ski together Friday.

Hang together Friday night the 29th (I'm thinking Clocktower), ski together Saturday the 30th.

Party at Lakanuki for Dingle and Arty's birthdays on the 30th. Ski on May 1, Sunday. Go home or go BC.

I've got some more that are open for the taking; ~4-5 in total.

    I'll be there that weekend...

I'm probably booking a condo tomorrow because you can't make me camp until all the snow is melted in town.

Correction. Minis are not limited to locals. Mini is more of a temporal designation. The full summits are week long affairs. Minis take up a long weekend. See the Utah minis for reference. People from all over the continent go to those.

Yes - and especially true for this Mini. Many mags are flying in. And with 15" fresh yesterday and 3 storms lining up - end of April will be awesome.

Now on to the important news: I got Lakanuki to give our group drink specials and possibly food specials for the 30th. But I need someone (paging Dingle) to design a Maggot Pass for us to show the bartenders and servers to get the discount - something easy for us to print out at home. I'm still in conversation about exactly what kind of drink for the discount - he offered well drinks, or maybe a specialty drink or two (he said margs).

Other news. I stayed in a very reasonably priced condo that is huge and sleeps tons (2 sets of bunks, a king, 2 pullouts and a huge living room) that was only $150/night - $388 for the weekend with taxes and booking fee. I highly recommend it. Email for info - I still haven't heard back from my friend, but that one is $420 so this one is better, although not central to the Village like the other, it's near Vons. But by the end of April, Canyon is closed so you have to drive to the mountain anyway.

    Couple questions from a jong-

Is there a wide array of skier abilities at these summits? Or is everyone a big mountain ripper-type?

Is it kosher for someone who knows no one on the board to come to a summit? That would be me.

I'm looking into rolling out there cuz it sounds like it's a damn good time, just gotta work the details out.

Any rides from Reno available? or anywhere else for that matter, since I don't own a plane ticket yet.

    Friday Sierra Tour???? Anyone?

    Tyrone recommended the Bloody Couloir.

Sure would be fun to get a day in of touring outside of Mammy- I'm pretty sure most of Saturday & Sunday will be spent in bounds so seems like Friday would be a great day for a tour (of course, weather pending)

    Bueller?.....

Splat - any word on your carpooling itinerary from Reno?

What mountain is this? I skied something that vaugely resembled Hangman's the other day, except the exit was 50 ft wide. Skied something that vaugely resembled Phillipes, but there was no rock drop (no rock period) at the exit. The drop out the end of Starr Chute if you were to stay skiiers left is about as big as the drop out of phillipe's used to be. Cowboy rock (under 22) looks as big as Potato rock (under Broadway express). Potato rock looks like, wait what potato rock ? But damn it we need more snow, you still have to walk down two steps to get out of the gondola at the top
