    ECer's - Magic this weekend

    Anyone up for hitting Magic this weekend? It looks like Southern VT is going to get a nice amount.

    THE SNOW WILL PILE UP THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT AND
    ESPECIALLY THURSDAY BEFORE FINALLY TAPERING OFF IN THURSDAY EVENING. NINE TO 13 INCHES OF NEW SNOW IS EXPECTED WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 14 TO 20 INCHES ACROSS THE THE BERKSHIRES AND SOUTHERN VERMONT.

    If I can get out of Boston this weekend (ie not 2 feet of snow to shovel), than I should be somewhere in Southern VT. But I'm not worried about pow, you just jinxed it completely...

    damn it, i'm with bigjay on this one....seems like i have some party or something to go to whenever there is a good storm. I was in VT last weekend for spring like conditions and now will have to stay home for two parties while VT gets snow. Although, as a warning guys, the warm weather has ruined the base or most mountians. If they do get snow it will covering a couple inches of slush and rocks. Bring a pair of beaters.....

    Magic Mtn = rock skis (always)

    It should be a good one.

    Got your PM - let's touch base tonight.

    The cover at Magic is still as thin as an Olsen twin but it will be sweet. I wasn't up last weekend but would assume the cover is better than it was when the last storm hit and that was a sweet day.

    I skied Magic 12 days ago (1/26) on 6 new inches of fresh…this was 4 days after the bigger storm. Considerable poaching was done and it was definitely sweet, but, guys, please be careful out there…..we haven’t had any snow since then and the last seven days have been spring like with lots of melting. We didn't hold back that day (although doing Redline wasn't even considered) and we hit plenty of rocks….you should now be very concerned about your bones hitting these rocks because unless this storm dumps ENORMOUS snow, Magic will be dangerous and even 20" isn't going to do it. Of course, you could just stay on the blues and greens...not that there's anything wrong with that.
