Uh, yeah, you heard me. 7" in 3 days, with 5 gigantic inches Sunday night.
This year, that constitutes a DUMP. And with plenty of resorts closed and dry in the PNW, I'll fucking take what i can get. Locals are calling this the worst winter in 25 years.
And another thing....ANOTHER Monday pow day. This season there have really only been 3 awesome bluebird pow days, and they have all been on Monday. Weird, but since im not working, it's great.
Woke to bluebird skies on the webcamm and cold temps (11 degrees at the base). As I pulled into the West Village parking lot, I admired the first tracks Timmay had laid down on The Cone before the mountain opened. Way to get after it, bro!![]()
Rode up Pine Maarten chair with bdog, who was sportiin' a huge smile in anticipatiiion of some good turns. Ducktherope was waiting for me at the top and we spent the early part of the morning schralping the shit out of Northwest (first chair, baby. it opened right at 9). Great blown in turns in the 1st and 2nd westside bowls. DTR and I had a blast weaving past each other, whooping it up and having a ton of fun. He's a very cool dude. The lower trees didn't get the same coverage and were kind of a chore to navigate.
At this point (about 10a.m.) Ducktherope had to check in at work (that Timmay is some kind of slavemaster, i hear) so i dropped a DEEP slot in the trees at the top of Devil's Backbone, working toward the right the whole way down. 8 foot flumes of cold smoke in the sunlight rising behind me. Some high quality flake today, boy. yes, i rock.

Typically out at the Northwest lift shacks they are late turning the "Summit - Open" sign around on time, and today was no exception. I cruised over to Summit and ripped off 4-5 sweet deep Bowls, working the upper skiers right side of the Bowl, and finishing my last run with a hike to the top of the Moraine for some very fast howling pow screamers.
Checked in with bdog on my way to the parking lot - still smiling and waxing poetic about his Cone run. Everyone was feeling the stoke.
And if it's a Monday powder day, then it must mean that i have another huge core shot that needs repairing!! Same place every Monday pow day this year - heelside, right behind the front binding. SHIT! But as Travis (dtr) so eloquently reminded me......
PTEX IS CHEAP, GLORY IS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
LONG LIVE THE MONDAY BLUEBIRD POW DAY
