Looking for opportunities. Long term goal would either be in OR or Capital Equipment. Best advice to get there from 12 years B2B experience and one year in Medical Supply Sales. Job opportunities or leads are certainly welcome too! Thank you.

Looking for a job in this economy is not fun.
Anyone? Thank you.

are you on linkedin? I just started a new inside sales job and since I posted my change on linkedin, I've gotten hit up twice by two different companies in 1 week offering me a position. Don't have any contacts in your field but I would see who the big companies are operating in your area and check out their websites.
Are you on medreps.com? Probably your best bet. There is another one called gorilla, but I'm not sure how much overlap of jobs there is between the two.
If your really serious about an OR job then don't plan on skiing or doing anything else M-F. If its trauma, don't plan on doing anything, ever, unless you split call with someone. If you are just getting started with a gig in one of the majors, like spine, ortho, etc, you would most likely start as an associate rep. I.e., schlepping shit around helping out, eventually covering cases, and just learning the business until you get a full territory. You might be willing to have to move to get that. Many medical device reps now work through distributors, instead of directly for a company.
I'm a manager and we are pretty much exclusively sold through a network of distributors.
Good luck.
What he said. Ive worked in o.r. ortho device as 1099 and direct for two companies. Anywhere you go youll be an associate (case cover rep) on salary. You wont be selling much the first year or two.
Thank you. Truly appreciate the advice. Not sure what is in store with the next move but this helps point me in the right direction.

Hey Guys. What are your thoughts regarding Medical Sales College to ramp up the timetable? Worth it or looked as as a joke?

AIMS?
PM me and ill be happy to shed some light for you.
I don't know shit about it, but my old roommate worked for http://www.promega.com/
She likes it. She had very little sales experience when she started but plenty of lab equipment knowledge. Seems like you'd be the opposite? She worked from home half the time and the road the other half.
Brought to you by Carl's Jr.
I wouldn't say it's looked at as a joke, but it's definitely not a ticket to the fast lane IMO. you are still probably going to have to pay your dues, and I think it's highly unlikely you'll be ready to assume a full line role coming out of the program. I know you couldn't in spine. You could train in a class room for a full year and not be ready to jump into an OR job.
One of my distributors has an AIMS guy, and he is still learning.
It might help you land interviews but I'm not sure. I'd be interested in what stomp says.
Here's a long thread on the subject. No, I haven't read it all, but the first few pages are humorous.
