So, I bought a used Mad Trix (game)...

Never played it before or even watched a demo. Saw a used copy in the used games bin at the store and decided to check it out.

Little did I know what it was all about 'till I watched the video intro....

    Good lord that was gay.

Glad I only paid 10 bucks for it.

Yeah, the skiing part was ok, but it got old after about 10 minutes.

I wish you could ski an actual mountain, not just some city street or on railroad tracks or through shopping malls or wherever else they thought it would be cool to ski...

Play it again in the summer. It won't suck so much then.

My above comment stems from the last time I played it... Probably July or August.

Yeah, and it isn't so bad if you turn the volume off and play your own music.

Like I said, the skiing wasn't too bad, and since I haven't yet mastered the controls, it is still a challange... It would just be nice if we had an updated version of it (I know there has been talk of skiing in SSX, but a new true skiing game would be sweet, with big mountain and pow and everything. THERE would be a summer game...)

I don't like how the controls are set up, you have to control your skiing direction with the analog stick but your spins/flips with the D-pad. I guess I'm just not used to it yet. You can rail slide uphill for a mile though.

(ok, ok, I secretly think the game is half way cool...)

For those who have never experienced it...

View the cheesy intro movie HERE.

Edit: (click on INTRO MOVIE - I tried a direct link and it wouldn't work).

First it makes you watch a Toyota commercial with the guy that looks kinda like Micah Black.

"When starting up Jonny Moseley Mad Trix, 3DO's new extreme skiing game for the PlayStation 2, you're treated to a video clip of Jonny Moseley and his entourage as they show up at a party and proceed to rock the house, extreme-skier style. Once they've had their fill of break dancing and billiards, Mr. Moseley poses the question to his posse, "What if it snowed in San Francisco?" This question serves as the internal logic for the rest of the game, in which you ski at locations around the world that don't traditionally have snow or, in some cases, hills. If actually playing Jonny Moseley Mad Trix is any indication, it would be ugly, slow, and entirely unenjoyable if it snowed in San Francisco."

Wow. I played that game once a few years ago and I am now reminded of how incredibly awful and embarrassing that Moseley's game was. My buddy, a snowboarder, had that and some ESPN Xgames snowboarding game which was cool. His quote of something like: "this game proves your sport is gay." still burns in my soul. Unfortunately if you want a good snowsport game you have to buy Amped2 which is a snowboarding game, but it's a damn good one. They also got those snowskate things in there but they are more frustrating than anything because you want it to be like Tony Hawk Pro Skater but it ain't.
    thats new hampshire as fuck

what we need is and Amped with skiers instead of snowboarders, that game is just plain sick, how hard would it be to build a game like that maybe you could ski or snowboard and choose actual mountains to ski with big mountain contests and stuff, ect ect. It could be really cool.

I played it for a while last night. It's funny, the whole time I'm thinking how lame it is, but I couldn't stop playing it. It's like riding a moped.

HOW THE HELL DO YOU UNLOCK MORE LEVELS? I'm still on the begining (San Fran). Do I have to get a gold medal to unlock the next level? That bastard Evan Raps holds the gold medal score and I can beat it. I must really suck if I can't get the gold. Stupid mute grab double misty flips.

You need to master the super duper trick, but thats too hard. There's a code out there to unlock all levels, skiers, and skis. Gold medals will unlock stuff too.
