About to spend some time in the Yucatan fishing, all other gear gets special treatment and cleaning so is there anything I should be doing to my camera in this environment? It will be living in a waterproof boat bag when not in use.
The only issue I have run into in the tropics is condensation.... if you're in an air-conditioned room and take it outside into the heat (and humidity), the lens will fog up immediately. Just store the camera in your room in a warmer spot and you probably won't have to worry.
Don't leave your gear in your bag sealed. Open up the bag to let moisture escape.
When leaving, let your bag warm up before pulling out the camera. My lowepro was like a cooler and if I didn't let it warm up for at least an hour or so I would instantly get foggy lenses.
Minimize lens changes if possible. And if possible, change lenses at night (usually not an option).
