When you ski a a lot of dirt in the Summer, a few rocks in the Winter don't bother you as much.

Wouldn't any tracks Brett left behind be called "psycho" tracks?

What you were looking at was shit for brains I would assume, one peak over from where you pointed out on the map. The turns then straight line was a snowboarder, the same one doing all the straight lines in SLP's Depth. Don't know who was the next two lines for sure but I have a pretty good idea. Lots of relatively big lines got skied, including 1st gully(and 4th earlier), Dog Leg, But Crack, No Name peak just to name a few.

And I apologize if I missed tracks in Y chutes, but I was sitting on a judging stand at the basin all day today, and didn't see any tracks there, could have been the light.

the wind ate some of the tracks from yesterday....i mean whatever chute it is, it is SCARY narrow and littered with rocks...

No I was judging the devo bump comp on ram rod. The carnage was great, lots of racers going for it in the bumps.

Yeah shit for brains is scary looking, but it skis alot wider when you are in it. And the snowboarder who did the straightline had been in there before this year so he knew what he was dealing with.

Heh, a friend of a friend of mine has done SFB like 5 times this year. I gotta find out if it was a snowboarder.

I am not feeling the love from terrain traps these days. But I'm looking forward to skiing that line (again) this spring.

I was up there on Friday, yeah it was SFBs, two sets of tracks, turns down the gut then straighline down the entire bottom half. Another adjacent line was dropped as well. Have to agree, a fair number of big lines got dropped, saw quite a few around the front range these past couple days.

I bet I know your friend, and I think he is a skier, unless he wears red pants and boards.

Okay, I just got off the phone with my friend, JoeBeater. He says he did SFB with his buddy (both skiers). He had called me last week to ski the buttcrack, but I went with Dave to do Radio Beacon instead. Anyway, they did SFB instead of the buttcrack.

I'm almost afraid to bring this guy over to TGR. He's a rippin skier and very cool hombre. And he has a snowmobile. I think I'll just introduce him to you freakos one at a time though. LoneStar and El Kabong have met him already.

What's the little, slightly hooked one just to lookers left of SFB ? Looks like a cool spot. Can you get there all the way from the top, or would you have to start from below the rocks at the top of the ridge?

Speaking of that, can you ski from the very top of SFB? Looks like all rocks at the top.

Snowfire and I also saw some new tracks appear in SFB sometime Saturday morning. Like Freshie, I was surprised there was enough snow in there to make it skiable. Their boards may have been bleeding by the time they got down to Marjarie bowl, but I bet it was worth it .

We've been talking about skiing that line for a couple of years now, but so far it's just been talk. Maybe this March/April we'll finally strap on a pair of brass balls and make the climb. Any maggots interested in joining??? Powderfarmer???

Yup - that makes four people.

You don't need brass balls to ski it in the spring. I did it a couple of years ago on one of my first backcountry outings. It was really fun in there. I gaped it up through the choke - did like a falling leaf. This time I'll charge it.

The hard part is the access. Really has freaky exposure from the cdot side. I've heard of people going from the east wall though? And the other thing is that you absolutely, positively do not want to be worked in a slide in there.

I'm going to do it again this year, but I want to take a couple of my friends and I don't feel comfortable doing it with more than a very small crew. What I wouldn't mind doing with a group of maggots is something like the professor, since we're talking about that area...I know snowfire has had some great turns on that in the winter. I've done it during corn time and it's pretty nice, but I'd rather ski it with some pow...

yeah, I'd like to ski the professor again this year. I didn't do it last year... probably too much time spent at a-basin

It's actually me that doesn't have the balls to do SFB, not GFP. I got freaked out last year by a patroller's report of an ice floe in the centre that probably couldn't be skied around, that she saw when she flew over it in a heli. I don't want to get halfway down that shit and run into something like that. If people have been skiing it recently though, Id feel more comfortable doing it. I haven't done any bc in summit cty. this year, all the days have been up the poudre. Or in EUrope.

Big E: If memory serves that is dog shit. Things are so named b/c going from gunners left to right it is:

    Dog leg
    Dog Shit
    SFB
The Brain (the brain is the giant mass of rock that separates SFB from the rest of marjorie bowl.)

at least that's how I learned it. There are a couple of creative lines down the Brain that could rightly be called "psycho" but not much else. There are also some supurb looking lines back further in marjjy...

Yeah, really thought about it the other day, but opted for more of tour. I have skied it before in the spring and it really skis alot easier than it looks. That being said, don't fall and don't get caught. The ice flow from all accounts I have heard this year, is not there. Any time anyone wants to do it, or anyother big lines in that area let me know, I am always game.

hey Farmer- sorry about yesterday, I was feeling really shitty all day and just went home after patrolling. I think I was asleep by 8. Today's not much better, and now I have to go suffer through ultimate practice. Gotta show up if I want playing time this spring.

I'm planning some runs in montezuma with a couple other patrollers soon, wanna join? I'll let you knwo when we're heading out, it'll be when I'm not coughing up a lung from this weird european disease I've brought back here. And when there's a bit more snow.

Not on here much anymore. Drop me an email if you want to contact me. Have a wonderful winter!
