South Fork Flathead River Beta Needed

Planning on a trip in early August. Going to be a solo trip, will be pack rafting it. Not the best flyfisher, but can cast and know all the basics. Anyone ever floated this before?

I'm really looking forward to it, but don't want to be in over my head and would like to catch a shit-ton of fish. Anyone have suggestions for patterns to bring?

Where are you starting and ending? Never done it but the Paddling Montana Falcon Guide has lots of good info on it. The gorge at Meadow Creek is class 4 and there's some 4 below the Hungry Horse dam. Other than that I think it's 1. I've hiked around there quite a bit, here's a section of the gorge:

I haven't, but I know there is a fair amount of horse outfitter activity along the south fork. I'm sure you could look one up and give them a call for fishing beta.

I packrafted it last year. Dry fly fishing will be good on basic attractors like PMX's and Chubby Chernobyl's. Should also have some para Adams and probably some hoppers but we're talking about cutties here no need to go overboard. If you want more specific info on the fishing or campsites or whatever just pm me.

It's a dream trip of mine, sounds awesome and I'm gonna make it happen someday. Off to the Beartooths next week for some quality time in the high country with some cutties and brookies so hopefully I get something accomplished besides feeding the mosquitos.
