I recently injured my knee in a horseback riding accident. I have a hairline fracture in my tibia, torn acl and meniscus, along with sprained mcl. My ortho surgeon decided not to pin the tibia due to the fact that it wasn't displaced and decided on non weight bearing treatment with a brace until the fracture heals (he said total of 3 months). After the fracture then to address surgery for the ligament repair. I was advised no weight and no movement at all. I have severe atrophy in my leg already along with tingling in the bottom of my foot without a compression stocking. I tried to lightly bend it and it's completely locked (I know I'm not supposed to) and I don't think this is normal? Then again im not very educated on these types of injuries. Is it normal for these symptoms? I have pain that comes and goes but for the most part I'm good without any meds. I have been evaluated for DVT and foot circulation problems and both have checked out ok. Anyone else that has had this injury with 3 months recovery on the bone prior to surgery??
