    Where to go? 2/20-2/23

I should be able to ski somewhere out west from the 20th to 23rd (leaving NYC Saturday night the 19th). I'm thinking Tahoe or SLC, or maybe CO. PNW was originally on the list, but now I don't think so. Probably need to buy tix this week.
What's looking the best for snow?
Also, anyone know how I can get better priced plane tix than I've found so far? I've checked with cheaptickets and a few others, and the fares/itineraries (making me stay overnight in D.C., for example) suck.

    Thanks yous.

jetblue is usually reasonable between NYC and SLC, but it looks like the once-a-day flight is full on that friday/saturday/sunday... oh well

America West is pretty cheap too.

Also, for snow, I'd say Tahoe or SLC are your best bets...

Southwest Airlines is having a massive sale right now on tix purchased 14 days out.

Taos is having a real good season and the forecast models continue to look promising for northern New Mexico.

Southwest doesn't seem to be helping me at all--completely booked out of NYC for anywhere I'd want to go.
I could fly to the midwest pretty cheaply, though.

Need a few more quick guesses, as I'm likely to pull the trigger in the next day. By doing one ways, I can do SLC on Jet Blue/America West. I think I can also get to Sacramento.
Thoughts? Guesses at snow? It's 12 days out from the eighth, so I know nothing will be too accurate, but...

Obstruction, have to check NWA (ask for ice cube!) to see if I can get the right times--working on the 19th, so have to leave late. Planning on skiing the 23rd, so same deal coming back. Thanks.

Too many replies for me to sift through right now....

I guess I'm asking people to know the unknowable, but how about a few guesses/arguments one way or another??

Here's my guess. Tahoe is as good as always good at the end of February. Right now it looks pretty good 10 days out, but who knows what will happen. Southwest and Jetblue have flights to Oakland which is 3-3.5 hours away from Tahoe.

What prices were you envisioning? Jetblue gives you $400 r/t to oakland leaving the 19th and returning the 23rd.

    Good argument for SLC:

Bad argument for sitting in my cube.

As of last night I had $250 r/t SLC, and something not that far off for Sactown. Need to do two one ways for SLC, though.
Hope I can still get it.
Snorkeldeep has me worried, gotta pull the trigger tonight. Shit.

fly into either slc or reno/sac or oak/sf....that gives you 5 possible airports to find flights....something has to be available. once you find your landing spot, then you can deal with the rest (where to go based on conditions, rental car, lodging, etc).

tahoe-slc about 8 hours apart, sac is 1.5 hours from tahoe, and oak/sf 3-4 hours from tahoe.

I would NEVER fault anyone who chose SLC.

But if you make it here, well, you know the drill. And if you find something that brings you this way, bring snorkledeep with you.

Yeah, Splat. Think the decision just got a hell of a lot easier--but less interesting. Shut out of SLC regardless of one-way r/t combinations. Looks like it's Tahoe via Sactown.
Now can you guys make it snow again like it did for the last group of visiting EC maggots?

Surprisingly, though, I usually don't travel under the name "Dexter Rutecki". Keeps me one step ahead of 'em.
