I love the NWS/NOAA site. It's kind of poorly organized but it has all kinds of cool easter eggs in random places. I have been there tons of times and have never seen that particular page before. They have tons of good data but I think the presentation could be done much better.
This was a recent discovery I had.
snow analysis page
seasonal snow depth animation loop for SW CO and UT
I really like the historical data analysis in general, and have been playing with some of the XML data NWS has recently made available. I have access to really good charting and archiving abilites and I am trying to develop a cool historical weather tool of some sort...hopefully I'l have the chance to share it with this board at some point.
Don't forget to write in and say they should keep doing the snow analysis page!
Link is on their homepage.
My Montana has an East Infection
I'm with ya, been surfing there for a few years and just found that gem today.
