NSR The funniest thing I've read in a while

A buddy who is an expat journo in Mosco put me onto this gem:

    http://www.exile.ru/

Possibly the most satirical paper I have ever read. Worth a look IMO. Lots that you need to be there to understand but a load of other really funny stuff. Clearly written by people so degenerate that they could be maggots.

Beware, much is NSFW and deeply distasteful. In particular I was impressed by the distastefulness of "Germany Pledges $700 Million To Tsunami Sex Tourism Relief"

Cool. I'll bookmark that. The Onion hasn't been doing it lately.

The Chaser is kinda similar to Exile, with stories like these.

I'm not clicking on your link 'cause I'm at work, but I'm pretty sure that a bunch of folks who used to work for the Exile ended up here in NYC running the NYPress (www.nypress.com).

I worked there for a while as a fact-checker and despite the unpaid nature of the job, I had a ball. The Press has a mean, libertarian, "fuck-you" sort of ethos. They're willing to take a swing at anyone for no other reason than "why not". It's pretty clear that they don't take themselves too seriously about 70% of the time, but based on the letters they get I don't think their readers know that.

I think that the only think these people should do that they haven't already done is recruit Bad_Roo. Then they will be made.

I'm partial to http://www.wreckedhighway.com/, put out by one ff my boys in Boston (is it spam if you admit you know the proprietors?). The Yuppie Douchebag series should strike a chord with a few of the NYC mags here-
