Which Alpine Bindings are Compatible with Alpine Trekkers

Just wondering. Any help would be appreciated. I've searched but mostly found what doesn't work.

Looking at the salomon 912ti because it is lighter and sturdy and will compensate for the extra trekker weight.

And I don't wanna sacrifice downhill to binding slop.

Boot is a Technica Icon (x, i think)

basically all of them. some looks don't work well w/ the heel lever being in the way a bit, but i know plenty of folks that still use 'em w/o any trouble.

I've used them in Salomons, Looks (both reg step ins and the older turntables) and even (gasp!) Markers. Never had a problem. I think for the most part they will work with just about anything.

    Edit:

Why not just get some Naxos or Freerides with the money you'd spend on the Salomons?

Well, I am waiting for beta on the new naxo binding before I make my decision.

Have a pair of dynastars on layaway at the store and don't plan on using them this season so I have time to decide.

    I live in pnw.

Looks work so long as you always use the low heel lifter. Not a problem unless you're touring a lot of flat, which probably isn't the reason you took your alpine setup.

The new burly Naxos look like the solution if you've got the $.

they do look burly, but I believe, from my research, that slop issues in both freerides and naxo o1's aren't about lateral stiffness as much as its about toepiece and heelpiece movement/play between the boot and the binding.

You NEED a pair of Looks to compliment those nice skis! Mounting Dynastars with anyting but is just wrong!
Some people spread the myth that Trekkers and Looks aren't compatible.
Sure, sometimes the back of the Trekker does contact the heel lever of the binding.....BUT SO WHAT???? It's not like the binding releases or causes any problems.
so to answer your question any binding is compatible. But you still need Looks ;-)

    Yea,

I guess putting look bindings on dynastars doubles your warranty?

I have plenty of miles on my trekker/ look p14 set up(also used them with the zrs, but mostly p14), you just need to set your boot in the right place and there is no problems. I don't even use the lower riser all the time, and it barely hits the heal piece at all, maybe rubs some paint and thats it. been on that set up for two years now with no problems. That being said, I think the next set up with have the new naxo's on them. Honestly hated freerides, keep breaking toe peices even without kicking the toe piece.

WELL OF COURSE, thats why I am me and you aren't

lets hope those new naxos work as good as they look. The toe piece looks like an old salomon 727 toepiece.

If the beta on them isn't any better than the freerides I think I may go for trekkers and look p14's.
