    Big changes afoot...freaky shit!

Kid graduates...TOMORROW! I actually get to hand him his diploma, as I work at the highschool where he's graduating from (kind of cool!). Then he's off to COLLEGE!

    Have to sell house, STAT!

Taking HUDGE pay cut to move somewhere I think I really want to be! (It's time to leave my hometown already, been bouncing back here and I never liked it to begin with)

Said new job starts in mid-Aug. Will it really work? Who knows...

NO place to live in new locale yet, NO guarantee this existing place will sell. D'oh!

So, can anyone blame me for having a mini-nervous breakdown? Meh. Really I'm just drinking 2 extra beers is all.

Redux: change is rather scary. In large doses = nearly paralyzing though. That's kind of where I'm at.

Love my kids, but looking forward to chapter two myself. I'm in my hometown as well. Same thing- never liked it here. I have at least 5 more years. Then I'm gone.

Just dive of the cliff. You'll be fine. Don't over think it. Just do it.

That is alot of change. Good luck to you.

I thought there was more tying you to your current location than Kid / House / Job ?

Funny after living all over the country my BIG move was to return to my home town (Sort of)

    I will never leave again

Well, no more watching old guys play loud at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Like I've wanted to see someone there in two years, anyway.

Good for you finding a gig in a cheap place. Wish I could. Just remember to negotiate for powder days.

Are you moving to the town where your kid is going to college at?

    DasCunt, can you read bro?

They are getting an apartment in his college town. Sounds like the young chap picked a place where she wants to live too, so it's a WIN-WIN! Can't break apart a mother and son.

Thanks, it's been a long road...and yes I should focus on the positive thru these changes

Hot butt mudd (ha!) actually, we'll be some miles apart. I need to give the whippersnapper his breathing room. Mom is getting a new start too. We will visit on school breaks, that's how it's supposed to be. I actually don't have the energy to be a suffocating mother. I have a lot of other stuff to do like teaching, writing, skiing, living, etc.

Big D...I do hope we are neighbors, look forward to skiing w/ you guys a lot!

Actually I don't think she said that. If she did, it wasn't in this thread. Can you read?

Move forward with reversible result. You can always make adjustments in the future as needed, so good onya for taking the steps in life that you want to take.

    Good luck

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

    Talking

Congrats Sprite, both on the new gig and for raising what sounds like a great kid (other than the lack of cycling TRs ).

Sounds like having some, but not too much, distance from Ziggy will be good for both of you.

Will he be in dorms or off campus?

I'm asked to do an antique repair on what looks to be 150 y.o. chair.
The guy I know somewhat..the wife I just met and I'm not getting a great vibe...maybe she senses I've never done an antique repair of this kind.. but it's wood..and I'm arrogant.. wtf.
I'm getting ready to go and she says...."Make It Reversible"..
I made that chair so reversible it's still in pieces in their basement :-)
Come to find out, after doing a lot of research, "make it reversible" is the antique restorers mantra....all repairs should be reversible.

This is neither here nor there...well I suppose it's here...

Well Dickey...now that the kiddo has some freedom from the job, 5 AP classes, etc. hopefully that's coming! I know he's looking forward to school in Troy, NY. Lots of mtn biking students there, and a team too. Keep yur eyes out for it!

As for me, feeling much relieved. Still a few obstacles to tackle but I think things have a way of working out.
