i don't know any asians who are honestly okay with oriental. they never say anything, but that's because it's usually dumbass white folks saying it and the asian folks know it's not worth the trouble to open that can of worms -- which is what happens a lot when you correct white folks on such matters. the only people i know who say orientals also say japs.

Yeah, some of the Vietnamese gangsters are pretty h-core. And you never, ever fucking ever, want to date an asian girl that talks about her Pilipino cousins.

I was sketchy on the spelling on that. I think I tried Laocian and Laosian, and still neither felt right. Glad to know the spelling police are out.

It may seem like it, but it's actually right about 13%.

edit: Not the spelling police man, I thought it was interesting and actually made more sense with the "s" than the "t", that's all.

I think so too, but spell check said I was wrong both ways. Tried Laotian and BAM, no red line underneath.

You folks do realize that people from India are considered Asians as well. In my neck of the woods this is the group that is driving immigration.

This whitey is happy about Asian immigration. I'm fine with allowing literate, educated, skilled immigrants into the US. As the article pointed out, Asians tend to fit that profile. What we don't need is more illiterate, uneducated unskilled immigrants. There are enough illiterate, uneducated, unskilled people here already. We don't need to import more of them.

Agreed...people need to find out what makes them worthwhile. The Asians really have found their worth and use that success with no ego. Fucking Americans seem too proud or stupid to do certain jobs or industries.

Consequently, we have a huge number of dumbfucks trying to do jobs they are utterly not qualified for, just because they WANT to do that type of work. Our society does not say "NO" enough. We are enabling people with fake degrees that anyone can attain and are told "you can o anything you want" in school.

Hahaha. Reminds me of this SNL skit that makes fun of that very same thing:
