using skins that are too wide

sorry if this post comes out more complicated than it needs to be...

Right now my touring rig is a set of original 1080s- waist 75

As soon as my shenanagains with customs gets cleared up, I will have a pair of arm-x skis - waist 90

I had a pair of skins trimmied for the 10u0s that have dissapeared off the face of the earth.

Today, the skins that were intended for the new skis came- they are 110mm

I want to go do some skinning this weekend.

Is is ok to just put the fat skins untrimmied on the thin skis? I understand I will have no edges- but the slope I will be skinining is mellow enough to just go straignt up.

will it hurt the skins to have edges on top of them like that?
dont want to trim this skins when the fatties are comning.

It's probably not going to hurt them is you are just doing some light skinning around. I'd try and keep them flat and don't kick into the side of the hill too much. You are going to get alot of water on the exposed part of the glue, so that may effect it for future use (add more glue when new skis arrive). And try not to knock your skis together when touring to reduce the chance of damage. What you should also do is run them off center on the 1080's so that your inside edge is exposed and all the excess is sticking out the outside edges.

I'd say you'll be luck to keep them on the skis for long - you'll continuely get snow between base and skin. You also stand a good chance of cutting or wearing through the skin with your edges

I too doubt that they will stay on the skis. I dont think youll do anymore damage than weakening the glue if you stick to fall line skining though
If things seem in control, Your just not going fast enough.

    Wait for the new skis.

I know bcrider once posted a photo of his skier buddy who was forced to use splitboard skins on his skis. I'd try it.
