Quotes from EpicSki = good times

I'll admit it, every couple weeks or so I get bored enough to visit EpicSki. It can be pretty entertaining to find the stupidest quotes.

Here's my contribution from the first thread I read. (on the new graphics from SIA)

I hate to say it but ours is a culture in decline and I don't know what the ultimate result will be. I watch with sociological interest, but mourn what seems to be the impending loss of true civilization.
    RiDec58,
I second your concerns on the youth of our nation. I also hate the trend on graphics... even though they are just graphics, and my baby girl will have a real childhood...as long as possible... unfortunately, I'm part of the religious right as well so it's kind of like a married couple canceling out each other on election night. You're going to have to live with the good and the bad.
Wow, one hideous graphic after another!
This is going to be a disapointing year for gear. I am not sure the industry can afford this after the start this year..

I turned 50 this weekend and I guess I'm an old geezer because I don't like the new graphics at all. I was looking through a ski book last night 50 Years of Skiing in North America By Dick Needham, and I happened to see a picture of the 1946 Northland skis, the current Dynastar 8000 look to be close to mirror images .

I think I would rather see more retro graphics then flaming skulls.

Anyone bored enough to try and find anything better?
    It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.

makes me wanna put up a poll over there of where they went to college, what they do for a job, and how much do they suck at skiing.

bunch of wanna be high society skiing snobs, the kind of people who buy the skis GQ gurantees will be hot this year.

"Yeah, so much for "timeless" graphics . I guess todays "short attention span theater" is coming to our little corner of the world. I remember when a graphic would be around for 3-4 seasons (Rossi 4Sk anyone?) to this. Oh well."

I wouldn't even call the graphics contemporary. As art, they're several years behind the times, stuck in a 90s grunge/hip-hop/garage revival vibe. Don't worry, Phil, clean neat lines and geometry and bright colors will be returning. Just not with this bunch.

The graphics are a perfect match for the moronic juvenile prose....

this is exactly what the skiing indiustry needs. This is what the kids area attracted to. This will undoubtedly bring more over to our side. When they get a little older, they may actually want to learn how to ski. (other than doing tricks that is)

    bunch of jokers

While trolling epicski can be fun and entertaining, poor trolling form will reflect poorly on the rest of us. So remember, if you're going to fuck around with grandpa, bring your A-game.

Lame. Thanks to the "Gapic" skier we still have a sport and a plethora of ski areas to practice it on, so chill the fuck out. No wonder they think the younger skiers are morons.

BTW - if you look at TGR's own SIA thread, we basically said the same thing, except at a 6th grade level.

Have to agree with FNG and Tipp on this one. I shudder to think of what anyone outside of this board would say about what we write. good god - if they spent longer than a minute in chat (especially when I'm there), they'd think English was our second language.

They'd also think we're a bunch of tools with our JONG this, Tech Talk that, and naked sister pix. Believe me, as much as we'd like to think we're the cool kids on the block, I'm sure every community thinks the same.

It doesn't mean that it's not some funny shit.

Of course there are dumb and funny quotes from the TGR site as well. It's not meant to be a complete indictment of GapicSki. And for the record at least half of the younger skiers probably ARE morons.

Oh yeah, and I'm definitely NOT that cool.

hope the G3 Reverend skis as good as it looks. I love the graphics, so I picked up a pair and mounted them with some of the new white freerides which match the text on the ski.

The Best Quote Ever From Gapic...

...was the woman who wanted to know if she should but a pair of KevGloves from PM Gear. See, PM Gear is in Nevada and she skis on the East Coast and she wasn't sure they would work.

You must be one cantankerous old f#ck. Get with the program, or get out of our way!

Actually, I fully agree. You also have to remember that quite a few of us came from that forum, and quite a few of us still post over there.

They have thier needs, we have ours. However, we all love skiing and powder. They approach the mountain slightly differently then us, but not as differently as, say, a lot of the newschoolers.com kids. If you (and I) met up with them for one of thier gatherings, I'd bet that we'd still have a very good time.

Then again, some goofy-ass shit gets posted over there. Some goofy-ass shit gets posted over here - just pull up any of them youngish maggots that we all love to pummel while they habitually post less then stellar material...

So the rumors that they're all a bunch of gapers may be true?

I had them dull the finish on my guitar so it wouldn't distract from my stunning chest.

Dammit, that one didn't work. You'll know which one it is if you look at their thread.

I love this guy's picture--he lists himself being from dirty jerzy, or something like that.
