Entry level flash that I can fire wirelessly?

I've been playing around recently with some rented and borrowed flashes and I think I could use one of these enough that I might pick one up. What I'm wondering is what's a good entry level flash that can be fired remotely/wirelessly from my 5d2?

Your 5d doesn't have a way to fire flashes remotely built in like the 7d correct? From what I have read the cheapest set up for triggers and cheap strobes is going with Yongnuo. Looks like you can get a speedlite and trigger for under $100.

How big of a deal is it that the yongnuo doesn't have ETTL? So far that's how I've been using the flashes that I've borrowed.

Does that just mean that I would have to adjust the power on the flash manually to have it match my desired exposure?

Yes. It's not really that hard to do once you figure it out. Some might argue that it allows you to be more creative...

    You've visited this site, right?

So E-TTL = exposure thru the lens right? This basically means the exposure setting is automated, right? So if I stick and E-TTL capable flash on my camera hot shoe I get exposure settings that way. With those yongnuos it looks like there is a slightly more expensive version that allows E-TTL when on body, but not for off camera flash. Would it be worth buying the $73 one to get that feature for occasions when you want to use the flash on the camera?

dfinn- did you get these? What do you think so far?

I've been running a yongnuo 560, and a vivitar 285hv fired by yongnuo 603 triggers
No complaints whatsoever. Definitely a great start into off camera flash.
While that setup definitely isn't powerful enough to stop motion in daylight, it really does get the job done.

    Some examples from the setup:

I've looked into all kinds of way to high speed sync, but at my current budget it's best to just let the flash duration freeze the action.
If you're shooting nikon, the d70 can be had for relatively cheap, and sync up to 1/8000. I believe the d40 can sync pretty quickly, too

This thread will probably be helpful to you, too

That is very tempting. I'm leaning towards the slightly more expensive youngnuo that has ETTL but I might have to get in touch with that person.

I've never bought anything off of NS. People pretty trustworthy over there?
