Squaw Valley RoShamBo Championships - 2/12/05!

PSA - RoShamBo Tournament in Squaw, 2/12/04, Winner Takes up to $500

Allright Tahoe peeps, just got off the horn with Mr. Pain McSchlonkey, and pending another approval from Mr. Junior of Le Chamois, we are green lighted for the first annual Squaw Valley RoShamBo (rock, paper, scissors) Championships to go down at 3PM on February 12th, next Saturday.

We wanna go for a round of 128 to start, at $10 to enter. It'll go down "best of three" to advance to the next round. Your $10 entry fee will include at least one free beer. This means that there will be some substantial cash prizes to at least the top 4 finishers. We're saving $500 for the overall winner. 128 people = $1280, a few hundred for the kegs, and the rest will get carved up for the top four finishers and maybe towards other prizes.

That means, to win $500, you only have to win 7 times. And it's RoShamBo, here, not exactly the hardest thing to win.

I'm going to try and talk to the Lake Tahoe Brewing Co. to see if they want to get on board as a sponsor. Other sponsors include NJB clothing, The Low Down, and perhaps some of Shane's various underwriters will offer up some schwag.

More details forthcoming. Might get a DJ or a band as well, could be a good time afterwards as the inevitable party will undoubtedly ensue.

It'll get Mr. McConkey more press coverage then any freeskiing he does this season. Mind you, this is not a comment on Mr. McConkey, but a comment on the disheartening disinterest in the freeskiing movement...

Well, depending upon how many people show up, the prize pot could be huge. 40% of all entry goes to beer, and 60% goes to the top 4. 1st gets 75 % of that. So if we manage to fill the bracket at 64, that's $640, so $256 for beer, $384 for prizes, $288 for first prize. If there's less people, we'll adjust it so first place gets at least $200.

Shane seems to think that we'll have well over 64 people (he thinks we could have almost twice that) but I don't think even he has that many friends......let alone that would particpate to the tune of $10 in something as stupid as this.
